"Natsu..Fuyu.." Shilin whispered, seeing her two children standing by her bed.
"Mommy..when are you going to get better?" Fuyu asked, clutching her mother's arm tightly.
"Mommy will be out of bed soon, don't worry." Shilin assured her, smiling. "Thank you for taking care of them, Isabel. Did you two take care of Isabel?" She asked her two children.
"Yeah! We helped her wash the dishes!" Fuyu said excitedly in pride.
"Such helpful children. Now, why don't you go and play with Mikasa and Eren." The two ten year olds ran out of the room.
"They're much more immature than Mikasa and Eren." Shilin said. "It's like they're still five years old."
"Natsu's doing pretty good." You said, sitting at the end of the bed.
"I'm sorry for leaving you to take care of those two. Please take care of them." Shilin said.
"Huh? What are you saying? Of course I'll take care of them." You reassured her.
"Thank you. I don't know what I'll do if you weren't here. I couldn't bear leaving those two by themselves in the world." Shilin whispered.
"Eh?" You were puzzled. What was she talking about? Was it the fever?
"(Y/N). Get out of this house now. Take Fuyu and Natsu with you." All of a sudden, Shilin's voice grew stronger and sterner, startling you. "Go back to our house, it's far enough there but it'll be closer to the dock." Tears welled up in her green eyes. "Please tell them I love the three of you so, so much."
"What are you saying?" You started.
"Go! Get out of here!" She yelled, making you run out of the room,
"Isabel, what are you-" Natsu started, but you grabbed his hand and Fuyu's in your other and ran out the door.
"W-Where's Eren and Mikasa?" You asked.
"They're looking for Armin. We thought we shouldn't leave." Fuyu said, wide eyed, trying to keep up with your long strides.
They should be safe from whatever Shilin was talking about. What was she-
All of a sudden, the ground rumbled. Natsu almost fell, but you caught him. Looking to the wall, you saw it.
A titan.
Is this what Shilin was talking about? You thought, heart thumping wildly. How did she..
"Is that..a titan?" Fuyu whispered, staring at the monster that was looking over the wall.
There was a silence of shock as everyone watched the titan. Then, like a flick of a switch, everything went crazy.
"To..To the dock!" You yelled at the two children, trying to remember what to do in case of a titan. That was so many years ago, when you left the Survey Corps.
You started running, pulling the two kids along, but Fuyu couldn't keep up. You put her on your back and slept running.
"B-But..mommy..!" Natsu stuttered, but you could only glance at him. From that one glance, he seemed to understand, as he burst out in tears but kept running.
I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry. You thought. Shilin, mother, I'm sorry for leaving you.
