Chapter Seventeen: Five Years Later

"Fucking hell." Natsu hissed under his breath as he gripped his left arm tightly, trying to stop the bleeding.

"I told you not to get into any more fights." Fuyu scolded him, lightly dabbing the wound with a cotton ball.

"How the hell was I supposed to know he had a knife?" Natsu demanded. "Cowardly fucktard."

Fuyu sighed, shaking her head. "You know, what would Isabel think if she knew about your potty mouth?" She asked.

"Fuyu. We've been over this." Natsu said, glaring at his twin sister. "Isabel wasn't even her real name. If she really loved us, she would have told us. Hell, if she really loved us, she would never have left us."

"We should never have asked Squad Leader Hanji about Isabel." Fuyu said, an edge in her voice as she threw down the cotton ball. "Now all you talk about is how much you hate Isabel."

"I told you, that's not her real name!" Natsu shouted. "For the goddamn hundredth time, her name is (y/n)! Why the fuck should we care about someone who-"

"What is going on here?" A voice that sent shivers up his spine said.

"O-Oh, Ca-Captain Levi...!" Fuyu stuttered nervously, immediately tensing up. "W-We were..."

"Who is this (y/n) that you two were talking about?" Levi asked quietly.

"None of your business." Natsu replied sullenly.

"Natsu!" Fuyu scolded him again, flicking his forehead. "Don't be rude!"

"Natsu?" Levi repeated, realization dawning on his face. "As in, Natsuko, that half Japanese kid? And his twin sister Fuyuko?"

"H-Huh?! How did you..." Natsu said, confused.

"(Y/N)'s talked about you two a lot." Levi replied as rubbed his temples.

"(Y/N)?! Where is she?!" Natsu demanded, jumping to his feet.

"Natsu, don't overreact-" Fuyu started, but Natsu pushed her away.

"Don't tell me not to overreact!" He yelled at her. "It's been five fucking years since she abandoned us! Don't you think we deserve some sort of explanation at all?! Why are you-" Natsu was cut off when he felt a searing pain his him and he flew back onto the ground.

"Mind your manners, brat." Levi hissed, his leg still raised after kicking him in the stomach. "Do you really want to know what happened to her?"

"C-Captain Levi, please don't mind my brother! He's just b-blinded by his own anger, so..." Fuyu said.

"No shit I want to know what happened." Natsu said, coughing as he struggled to sit up, batting away Fuyu's helping hand.

"She's dead. She been dead for a while now."
