I Promise (Attack on Titan: Levi x Reader fanfic)

Prolouge: Did you abandon me?! You promised..

Your legs trembled as you swung around in the Underground on your 3-D maneuver gear.

You and your friends-Isabel, Levi and Farlan- had stolen these from some of the Military Police that were going to sell them to the black market.

It's been well over a year since you stole them, and still you couldn't balance properly.

Your friends had gotten used to them in a few months; you couldn't even balance right then. Now, you're still a little shaky, but you were getting the hang of it.

"Oi! (F/n)!" Isabel called from behind her. "Need a break?"

"No, I'm good." You called back.

"Let's take one anyways. You don't want to strain your legs." Farlan said, lowering himself.

"Sorry." You said when you all reached the ground. Farlan and Isabel looked at you in surprise.

"For what?"

"Always needing to take a break. Aren't I a burden?" You said quietly.

To your surprise, Levi just sighed and patted your head.

"Yeah, you can be a burden sometimes, but you're our family. Family wait for and take care of each other. Don't worry, I promise to protect all of you for as long as I live." He said in his usual monotone voice.

"Let's walk for now. The Military Police should be far away now." Farlan said, looking around.

"Isabel, Farlan, (F/n)." Levi said. "You know what to do."

"Be careful." Isabel said in a worried voice before jumping off.

"I will." You glided into a twisted yet abandoned dark ally. Speed and agility was to your advantage, being small and light.

Once you ran until your lungs were out of breath, you slowed down, looking around you. You should get up, go find the others.

Panic surged through your throat. Where were they? You had checked everywhere.

Thinking and hoping they were back home, you ran all the way back.

But it was empty.

They might be late. You had thought. They might have gone farther than you did. It would take them longer.

But two whole days passed. They didn't return. You had to accept they were gone.

Why did you all leave me?! You wanted to scream. Why did you abandon me?!

You cried yourself to sleep that night.
