Way Back Into Love

chapter one

GREGORY

WHEN our meeting finished, I drive my car without any destination. For past years, I've been looking for something that I don't have. Maybe some people looked at me like I have everything but my family knew what was lack on us.

We all grew up without a mother or a father looking for us but still grateful and thankful to our grandpa who was there for us all this time. Unlike Yvo, he got foster parents in San Javier. I stop at the park. Ever since I was young I always wanted to go at this kind of place but granpa always forbid us to go anywhere most particular in crowded places, that even when we stayed at state we have our own bodyguards to look for us wherever we go. It was tiring but we all knew that it was only for our safety.

Getting-off of my car and look for some bench to sit on. Ginala ko ang paningin sa paligid, matao ang lugar kahit gabi na ay marami paring namamasyal.

I decided to walk around. I stop when I saw a beautiful woman in a fountain, by the look she's wishing and then she throw some coins inside the fountain. I smiled. I don't when I reach her, I just found myself uttering some words to her.

"Is there any sense of throwing coins into the water?" I said. I laugh a little when I saw her shudder.

"ay! kamatis na may buhok!" sabi nya

I can't hold my laugh when she uttered those words. She's beautiful, like an angel.

Madami syang sinabi sa akin, e tinanong ko lang naman sya kung may sense ba ang pagtatapon ng barya sa fountain but I let her talked, she's cute anyway.

I knotted my forehead towards her when she give me a coin and said I should try to wish. She give me a precious smile made me smile to her genuinely that I forgot to ask her name. I got a feeling that we will see each other again.

I look at the coin in my hand.

"Wish" sabi ko sa sarili ko, napakoyum ako.

When I was a young and naïve boy, I don't believe in a word wish because every time I said my wishes not even once it did come true.

I wish for a parent like any other young boy had but up until now it remained a wish. I wish for someone who could give me the love that I'm looking for my whole life, yes it comes but it was also the reason why I suffered.

But the image of the woman a while ago pop up into my vision, she has a look of positivity in her eyes that made me think again. Napatitig muli ako sa barya, wala naman sigurong mawawala kong humiling akong muli just this one. When I finished giving my wish, I throw the con with my hope that it would be grant.

I step going back to my car when my phone vibrate. I pick it up as soon as I saw the caller.

"Yes, Lolo"

"Gregory, where are you? Yvo, told me that the meeting was finished early." He said with a worried voice

"I'll be back soon, don't worry" napangiti naman ako when I said those words. Everyone are afraid to talked to the Senior Monteverde but for us, his grandchild, he is the most gently and understanding person.

"That's good, let's meet when you come back"

"Okay, I'll be there in 30" Pinatay na nya ang tawag, kaming magpipinsan at si Lolo Samuel nalang ang magkakasama.

Ilang sandali lang nasa mansion na ako, may mga sarili na kaming mga bahay pero kapag pinapatawag o may family gathering kami, dito kami namamalagi. Ang kulang lang sa amin ay si Carol na sa Paris ngayun. Lolo wants carol to go home but the latter is hard headed. Ever since spoiled ito at si Ashley kay Lolo at sa aming magpipinsan. Natawa nalang ako nang maalala ang unang pagkikita nila ni Yvo, they even jumped on Yvo because of excitement knowing that we have another cousin. Yvo with shock still carry them, Ashley in the back while Carol in the front. Everyone who could see that scene might think weird but for us it'[s normal. We are closed.
