You're work was only about four blocks away, leaving you enough time to relax as you walk. The ground was slick, and puddles speckled the ground. The sky was still mostly cloudy, but they were slightly less thick near the sunrise, bathing that portion of the sky in a soft pink, with sunlight shining through. A warm breeze blew by, and the birds chirped peacefully in the trees. Pulling out your phone, you set to record a quick video to document the gorgeous skyline.

"Wow guys" You say to the camera "Look at how pretty it is!" You turn the camera to the sky, and say "That could be the background for an inspirational quote." You stop the recording and upload it to your social media for your fans. You put the phone back in your pocket and look up at the sunrise again. The grey of the surrounding sky perfectly highlighted the sun. You always loved the dark grey of the clouds. This was going to be a good day, you could feel it in your heart.

The day at the dollar store was as boring as it usually was, always slow because no one shops in the middle of the day except for older people and college students. Even then, only about 4 customers showed up each hour. Leaving you plenty of time to film short little funny videos that you would upload in the days to come. Watching the clock, you slowly count down until you can leave and go home. An hour before your shift ended, your coworker arrived, ready to work the late evening shift. She was about 40, with streaks of grey showing through her red hair. "How are you doing today, Amber?" She asks kindly as she attaches her name pin to the front of her shirt. "Same old, same old Margery." You respond, resting your head on your hand, as you lean on the counter. "You know what you need?" Says Margery. "Not this again..." You grumble, focusing on the expansive shelf of flavored lip balm for a dollar each across the hall. "I think you would be so much happier if you settled down with a nice young man. You can't live like you are forever." You sigh and sit up, looking at Margery, you can she that she really does care about your well being. Margery had been like a mother to you for almost a month and a half, she was always giving you advice, and was always ready to jump up and help you in anyway she could. She was tall, and her face was beginning to show signs of age. But she exuded a motherly aura that everybody was drawn too.

"Margery, I don't need anybody. It only brings complications, break-ups, divorces... why bother around with something that only gets in the way?" Margery smiled, "Oh honey, you will feel that need eventually. Nobody can choose to stay alone forever." The clock strikes four, and you begin to pack your belongings, "Thank you for the advice Margery, it has been nice to see you. I'll talk to you again tomorrow, OK?" you say. "Alright, have a good evening, Hun." She says cheerily. Waving good bye, you walk out the door. Your walk home was exactly the same as the walk to work, only the clouds had lessened, and sunlight filtered through the clouds in streaks.

It was terrifying every time you walked home, so you tried to cling to the safety of your phone as much as possible. A distraction from the fearful neighborhood around you. Walking as fast as you can, you finally arrive back at the one-floor apartment. As you unlock your door, it rattles. The instability of this place always made you nervous. It would not take much to break this door open. Pushing the door open, you toss your phone on the coffee table and flop on the couch. You lay for a second before groaning and rolling onto your back and staring at the ceiling for a bit.

Maybe Margery was right? What if you would be happier with somebody you could tell everything to? Someone you could feel safe around? You sigh with frustration before sitting up. You look around, not really sure what to think, before spotting your laptop. The sight of it was enough to reignite your interest regarding this mornings confusion. Reaching forward, the laptop is dragged onto your lap, and you are logging in. You click on the internet browser and load up your channel. But that is about as far as you get before you see something that shocks you into silence. Somehow, in less than ten hours, you had gained over a million subscribers. How?! This was world shattering, from twenty to one million was a very large jump, skipping most milestones. What about a 50 subscriber video? One hundred? Five hundred? A thousand?

How were you supposed to respond? You hadn't expected this many people, at least not before you had perfected your material. Frantically finding the video from this morning, you scroll to the comments. TREASUREhunter12 had responded.

TREASUREhunter12: You need to check out his latest video.

Nervously you type "Markiplier" into the search bar. The channel pops up, scrolling along the uploads, you notice most of the videos were gaming, but a few you weren't quite sure. Finally scrolling back up, you click on the most recent video, "Reading Your Comments! #7!| HOW TO MAKE FRIENDS!?". That's when his face popped up.
