Rose traveled down stairs and into the living room, there weren't many hiding places in the living room so she decided
to search the kitchen first. If anyone caught her out here at two A.M she would just say she's hungry. Rose scrambled
through the silverware drawers and food cabinets. Where could the little brat put the bloody letter? She couldn't find
it any where, maybe he burned it, a very possible answer. When Rose looked on top of the fridge she found an
envelope, probably the letter, it was to dark to really tell. Only one problem, she couldn't reach the top of the fridge
with out jumping or standing on something. If Rose did that then she would wake everyone up.
Rose froze when she heard shuffling coming from the stairs. A tall shadow came around the corner and into the
kitchen where she saw James with a candle in his right hand.
"Rose!" James shouted horsely.
"Shut up, you're going to wake the whole house," Rose scolded.
"Sorry, you have me heart attack."
"What are you doing down here?" they asked at the same time.
"Getting something to eat."
"Stop mimicking me its weird," they said again at the same time.
Rose got out a spoon for some cereal when James tapped Rose on the shoulder looking frightened.
"What's the matter?" He pointed out through the back door. There were two adult figures talking to each other in
black traveling cloaks.
"Death eaters?" Rose asked.
"How am I supposed to know, it's to dark to see anything."
James blew out his candle and they were both engulfed in darkness.
"Give me something to fight with," James said. Rose handed him her spoon she was holding.
"Really?" James complained.
"It's better than nothing."
James leaned himself against the wall right beside the door pushing Rose along with him. The door clicked open and the two men walked in, and before one of them could turn the light on James, closes to the door, pounced on top on top of both men at the same time, jabbing the spoon in his head.
"Help! Who is this?! Get off of me you freak!" the taller of the two screeched.
The other man shouted, "Argh! why are you attacking us?!"
Rose recognized those voices and turned the kitchen lights on to find James on top of Uncle Harry and her dad, Ron.
"James?" they said at the same time.
"What are you guys doing up so late?" Ron asked.
"We couldn't sleep and got hungry," Rose said.
"What are you two doing?" James asked suspiciously.
"We had some paper work we didn't turn in on time, so they made us do it now."
"Oh, sorry for the mishap, thought you were death eaters," said James leaving while dragging Rose behind him.
"James let go, I still need to get my cereal," Rose said freeing herself from his grip and running down stairs.
"Sorry about James," said Rose jumping up and grabbing the letter from the top of the fridge. They gave her a look that told her to go to bed, and she ran out with out another word. Yes! She to the letter! Closing her bedroom door Rose turned on her lamp and opened the letter that read,
Rosie,
Why are you ignoring me? You haven't sent a single letter to me all break! I hope your alright, don't get me worried.
Have you heard that our parents agreed to let us go out? I tried to tell you during breakfast but couldn't find you.
Wishing you a merry Christmas,
S.M.
That's what he wrote?! How can he go from loving, to taunting, and now back to loving. Rose got out some
parchment and ink and began to write.
Malfoy,
Yes, I'm fine. I've also heard that our parents were okay with us, but I'm not any more. We were complete jerks to each
other before we met, we loved each other, then YOU were a complete jerk to me, and all of a sudden you send me this
caring letter! How could you play with me like that?! We're through! I never want to see or talk to you again! Lets just
set things back before we ever even really knew each other!
Rose
Rose angrily tied the letter to her owl, which flew off into the night sky very reluctantly, since she woke it from its
sleep.
