Alana's POV
"I can't believe we got in." Keira fist pumped as soon as we got through the door.
"Never underestimate the power of fake ids." I laughed.
We couldn’t help but admire the atmosphere in here. There were people everywhere- all enjoying themselves and having a generally good time. The club was moderately sized, but it was packed. On one side of the room, there was a dance floor and a pretty talented DJ (in my opinion, anyway). Opposite, there was a bar accompanied by high tables and stools- completely handy for when we got tired later on.
Basically, it was amazing. I could already tell I was going to have a great time tonight.
“Okay. Compulsory pre-mingling make-up checks,” Keira grabbed my shoulders and looked at me critically.
I held still while she assessed me; this girl took these things seriously. I watched her eyes trail from my straightened black hair, to my smoky eyes, to my outfit. I was actually pretty proud of the ensemble that I’d thrown together for tonight: a green halter-neck, my black skinny jeans, and some killer stilettos that matched the colour of my top perfectly.
“You’re looking good.” She gave me the ‘okay’, smiling. “Now do me.”
"That's what she said." I said quickly, laughing. I couldn’t help my entirely immature response; it was just too good of an opportunity to pass up.
Keira rolled her eyes. "Seriously, how do I look?"
She sounded serious so I hushed my childish giggles. I looked her up and down. Really though, anyone who walked past would’ve thought I was seriously checking her out.
Keira’s blonde hair had been painstakingly pinned into a sophisticated up-do. The black eyeliner she was wearing drew attention to her emerald eyes, and her pink dress hugged every curve. She’d ended up borrowing my black heels which, I had to admit, looked pretty darn good on her.
"You look amazing." I grinned.
“Couldn’t let you keep the limelight to yourself now, could I?” Keira winked. “Since that’s over with, let’s go party!” Saying nothing more, she grabbed my wrist and led me to the dance floor.
Jackson's POV
“Jackson, I would like you to meet my Uncle Ted. He’s the owner of the club.” Corbin gestured between us, introducing me to an African American middle-aged man.
The man I now knew to be Uncle Ted smiled at me, showing off his crooked, yellow teeth. I tried not to cringe.
"It’s nice to meet you, sir." I nodded politely.
"Likewise," his grin widened. "Drinks are on me boys! Have fun, but not too much." After winking, Corbin’s uncle walked off.
"Dude, he does realise we’re only seventeen right?" I asked, looking over to my friend who seemed strangely relaxed.
"Yeah," Corbin laughed. "He's cool."
"That he is." I agreed, laughing. "Well, let's get something to drink then!"
