Cole’s POV
Maggie kept calling me. I don’t exactly want to talk to her right now. Tad told me that she said she hates me. I surprisingly believe him. I hate ignoring Maggie. Because I honestly love her…and I hate hurting her like this.
I’ll call her tomorrow. I just need to think.
Maggie’s POV
I gave up on calling Cole. If he doesn’t want to talk to me, then fine, I can be stubborn too. I just sat there for a few minutes. I eventually put my head down on the counter. Just waiting. Waiting for something good to happen. I heard footsteps come into the kitchen. Someone sat down be side me, and put their arm around me.
“What’s wrong, angel?” Yep. It’s Cody. Surprise…
“Nothing. It’s nothing.” I said, still not lifting my head up. I felt tears stream down my face. Why was Cole ignoring me?
“No…Maggie I know something’s wrong. You can tell me anything. You know that right?” He asked.
“Sure. Ok.” I lifted my head up and looked at Cody.
“Maggie! What’s wrong? Why are you crying?” He asked, with a concerned look on his face.
“I just-It’s just Cole-Nothing.” I said, putting my head back down. I don’t like telling anyone my problems. I feel like I’m complaining when I tell them.
“Maggie…I’m always here for you. Please talk to me about it.” He said.
I shook my head no.
He took my hand, and stood me up, making me look into his eyes.
“Maggie…”
“Fine. Cole’s ignoring me. It’s really getting to me. I don’t know what I did wrong.” I said, looking down at my feet.
Cody lifted my chin up, so I would look at him.
“Don’t worry about it, angel. Maybe he got his phone taken away from him or something?”
“Maybe. I just-I’m not going to worry about it. Like you said. Thanks.” I hugged him.
“Anytime.” He said, hugging me back.
“So..” I said, pulling out of the hug. “Wanna go for a walk on the beach now?” I asked, grinning.
“Sure! Let’s go.” He said, taking my hand.
“Wait! MOM…WE’RE GOING TO THE BEACH NOW…BE BACK IN A FEW HOURS!” I yelled to my mom.
“ALRIGHT.” She yelled back. “BE CAREFUL!”
“YUP.” With that, Cody and I left out the door, and began to walk to the beach. We walked there in silence. I guess you could say it was a comfortable silence.
When we got there, the water was low tide. So we could actually walk around on the sand without getting wet. That didn’t really stop Cody from splashing me though. I pushed him in the water and ran. I ran all across the beach and stopped at this beautiful beach house. I heard footsteps running behind me. I quickly turned around just in time to step away from Cody running full speed to me. He fell to the ground face first. I started laughing.
“Not funny!” Cody said, laughing.
“Then why are you laughing?” I asked, confused.
“Maybe because I’m going to…”
“Going to what? Cody…” It was too late. I couldn’t do anything…he grabbed me and picked me up, swinging me over his shoulder. He ran to the water, and ‘accidentally’ dropped me. I got up.
