"Oh." {Chapter Nine}

Cody’s POV

“I-I-I” I stuttered again.

“What is it, Cody?” Maggie asked sweetly, stepping closer to me, our faces inches apart.

“I-uhh. I like your nose ring. It really brings out your eyes.” I smiled weakly.

She frowned. Then sighed.

“I can’t take this anymore! I don’t want to keep hiding what I’m feeling. Cody…I like you! A lot!” She exclaimed, sitting on her bed. I smiled. I must have looked like an idiot…just standing there smiling like crazy. I laughed.

“What’s so funny?”

“I don’t know. Maybe the fact that I like you too.” I smiled brightly at her. She looked up at me and smiled.

“Really?”

“Of course…why else would I try to kiss you?” I asked.

“Right.”

I sat down beside her.

“So…you really like me…?” I asked.

“Yes. I really do. I didn’t think you liked me.” She looked at me again. I couldn’t resist any longer.

I cupped her face in my hands, and pressed my lips against her lips, and kissed her gently. I pulled away slowly and looked into her green eyes, and smiled.

She smiled that cute smile.

Maggie’s POV

I can’t believe he kissed me. I don’t think I’ll ever stop smiling. We were both smiling like idiots just looking into each other’s eyes.

“So…uhhh…what now?” Cody asked, breaking the silence.

“I don’t know.”

“How about…dinner…at my place…tomorrow night?” He asked.

I smiled. “I’d love that.”

He smiled that cute smile again.

“Umm. Well this is awkward. What should we do now?” I asked.

Cody laughed.

“Wanna go to the beach?” Cody asked.

“Cody…its 10pm.”

“Oh…right. Forgot. Umm…what about tomorrow?” He asked.

“Cole’s visiting, remember?”

“Right. He can come with if he wants?” Cody smiled.

I smiled back. He is so sweet.

“Yeah. I’ll talk to him about it in the morning.”

“Alright. I should go. I’m tired. Plus…the beauty queen also needs her sleep.” He winked. I just blushed.

I laughed. “Uh. Thanks. Have a good sleep, Cody.”

“Night, angel.” He pressed his soft lips against my cheek and left.

“Wait!”

“What?” He asked just as he was climbing the railing.

“You forgot to hug me.” I blushed.

He laughed, then climbed back over and gave me a hug.

“Night, Cody!” I grinned, and watched him leave. I slipped into my bed and closed my eyes. I felt myself drift off to sleep.

Cole’s POV.

I frowned as I took my ear off Maggie’s door. Cody’s…her boyfriend now? No. He can’t be. He didn’t even ask her. He only asked her for a date. That’s all. Why should I even care? I don’t love her…maybe I like her a little. I don’t even know what I’m saying. She’s my best friend. She has been for 4 years. I can’t ruin that. She likes Cody anyways. There is no way I’m going to the beach tomorrow. I came here to spend time with Maggie…NOT Cody. I heard they’re entire conversation. What were they doing when they stopped talking? I hope they didn’t kiss yet. Who am I kidding? I know they were kissing in there. I should have busted in like I did before. But then she would have got mad at me. Don’t want that. I don’t even know what I’m doing anymore. I wanted to kiss her. When we were in that little fight in her front yard…I wanted to kiss her. Right then. I thought it was the perfect moment. But…I knew she wouldn’t like it. So I threw her in the water.
