---

I didn't get to talk to Collin all day. Janelle had a doctors appointment that ran all day, Ray skipped school to go with her and Billy was pretending he was sick for the fourth day in a row.

For a reason unknown to me.

So at lunch I was stuck at a table alone, catching up on extra chemistry homework. The only bright side of this day was that Dane was absent as well. With their fearless leader gone all of my usual bullies were a lot quieter, only verbally picking on me in small doses. I was so focused on my homework that I didn't see the small paper wad flying towards my head.

It startled me when it hit, wacking me on the cheek. I glanced towards where it came from, noticing my very suspicious looking boyfriend holding back a laugh. I gave him a teasingly angry look before unfolding the note.

'Date tonight, you and me?" It said in messy, loopy scrawl, followed by a lumpy red heart. I smiled brightly and blushed before turning towards him and nodding. He grinned happily and fist bumped, making me giggle. One of his friends asked him a question then, making him blush and mutter an answer, turning away from my gaze.

I turned away, understanding but a little hurt, before my phone beeped.

'So excited for our date tonight.

Love, your boyfriend.'

My hurt soon melted away when he called me his boyfriend. The giddiness was enough to counteract it. As I continued doing my homework, I planned what I was going to wear tonight, smiling the entire time.

---

At six my doorbell rang, making me jump in excitement. I quickly ran my hands through my hair one more time before taking a deep breath and opening the door. He took my breath away.

He was wearing a grey button shirt that complimented his eyes, with a pair of dark skinny jeans that hugged his perfect butt. We both stood and gawked at each other for two minutes, until I realized he noticed I was staring at him and I looked at the ground in embarrassment. He ducked his head down to my level, gently kissing me and using his lips to pull my face up into his gaze.

I blushed slightly and licked my lips, tasting his kiss. He gave a low moan and pinned me to the door, holding my hands above my head and ravaging my lips desperately with his own. I whimpered in lust as he let go of my wrists and yanked up my t-shirt, tweaking my nipples between his large fingers. I panted heavily, squirming under the pleasure. When he started to unbuckle my belt is when I finally found the motivation to stop him, the waves of pleasure running through me making it difficult.

"Collin... Collin stop." I panted, trying without sucess to move his hands off my belt. I gently took his hands in my palms and held them still, making him finally pause. He stepped away from me, looking embarrassed.

"I'm sorry Charlie, I don't want to push you. I know I have a habit of going too fast and-" I put my finger to his lips and gently grabbed his hand, moving it away from the tangle of hair it had latched itself onto on his scalp.

"Collin, it's ok. I want you." His eyes turned dark with lust and he went to kiss me again before I turned my head away so he only got my cheek. "But the thing is, we haven't even gotten out the door yet." I looked down shyly. "As much as I love you touching me I was really excited for our first date." A grin slowly spread across his face and he kissed me again, this time with no desperation. Just slow, sweet care.

He then grabbed my hand and led me to his car, opening the door for me as usual before getting in his seat and clasping my hand in his as he drove.

---

We drove two hours out of town for our date, far enough that we could act like a couple without worrying about anyone seeing. We went to a nice restaurant first. Fancy and Italian, with candles lit warmly aross our table. After dinner we drove to a fair that was in town, a pretty lit up carnival with rides and prizes.

"How much for the rabbit sir?" Collin asked the old man tending the ring toss booth. I blushed, embarrassed that he knew about my bunny obsession.

"Well son you can't just buy it. If you want it for your fellow yer gonna have to win it." The old man replied, a cigarette between his lips. I was about to pass, feeling guilty about all the trouble, when Collin shoved a five dollar bill in the mans hand and took the first ring. I then watched in awe as he got all three rings right on the targets. He then smiled calmly, ignoring my gawking, and turned to the man.

"The bunny please." He asked smugly, the old man chuckling along with him.

"Here you are son. And ya'll make a cute couple y'know." The man said making me duck my head, flattered but embarrassed. Collin on the other hand, beamed proudly and shockingly put his arm around me.

"I know my boyfriend is a catch." He stated before kissing me on the cheek and handing me the bunny. He and the old man chuckled at my blushing before we waved goodbye and searched for our next thing.

"Ferris wheel?" He asked, looking at the large lit up ride, bright in the rapidly darkening sky.

"Ferris wheel." I agreed, awed by its beauty. The worker took our tickets and led us into a car, snaping the gate closed as we started lifting into the sky. Collin pulled me across his lap, tightening his arms around me in a warm embrace. For a moment we stayed quiet, revelling in the beauty of the fading sky and eachothers warmth. Before I surprisingly broke the silence.

"I love you." I said carefully, staring into his beautiful eyes. Panic started to grow in his eyes, unsurprising to me.

"I-I-I-uh..." He stuttered, making me grin. I gently kissed him on the lips, stopping his babbling and making him relax.

"It's ok. I know you aren't ready to say it back yet, I understand. All I want from you is to hold me right now and know that I have always loved you. Ok?" He smiled widely and nodded before pressing his lips to mine. No rushing, or desperation, just the two of us together under the stars.

In that moment everthing was perfect. In that moment I never thought anything was going to get bad again. But as always when things come to a high at such a fast pace they come crashing down again just as quickly.

I know it's a cliffhanger, I'm sorry! (Runs and hides in a corner.) But I put this story on hold so I could finish The End of Summer Haze. It was the first story I started and I feel like both stories will have better quality if I do them one at a time. HOWEVER if I get at least fifty votes on this story I will start updating sooner, while I am still writing Summer Haze. That way I know you guys want this story back faster.

Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.
