In this story I use the word football for the term Soccer since most people refer to it as football.
Hope you enjoy the story.

Josie's POV

Noisy chattering fill my  ears as I take my seat next to my mother and father and wait for the  head coach to begin his annual lecture about the upcoming football  season. I cannot help but roll my eyes at the obnoxious group of boys  sitting the on the row diagnal from where I am sitting talking about how they  are going to 'crush it' this season. My attention is taken away as my  bestfriend comes rushing through the doors followed by her parents, this  is typical of Brea.

Her parents begin their  usual conversations about work with my parents while Brea and I begin to  talk about this party we got invited to this friday.

"I guess we're both  going to have to walk because you know as well as me that we can't stay  sober, last time was a disaster." Brea says through laughs, I think back  the last party a couple weeks ago where I ended up failing at being  Brea's babysitter due to the fact I got shitfaced as well. Our head  coach makes his way in accompanied by the under staff walking beside him  up to the podium.

"Good evening, I am  looking forward to the upcoming season and can already say I am  expecting prestige performance from returning athletes. Many have heard  about the grand tournament that is to take place towards the end of the  season, I hope to see both male and female varsity teams take us all the  way to first. I would like for parents to have the following packets  filled out by first practice next monday, no excuses. I will be  selecting four boys and four girls from varsity to help assist the  freshman tryouts, you will be given a slip along with the packet being  passed out." Coach Tomlinson explains as his assisting coaches begin  passing around the packets. I recieve a call slip along with Brea to  help with the tryouts followed by two other of my teammates.

"There goes my Saturday,  at least I won't be the only one hungover." I chuckle nudging Brea  handing the packet over to my mother who begins to look through it  reading a few things here and there.

"This will conclude our  gathering and I look foraward to seeing all of you at first practice  prepared and ready to have a tough training season." He says with a  divilish smile plastered on his face, my groans are joined with other  students already knowing the pain we are about to endure. I stand up along  with my parents waiting for others to exit out the gymnasium followed  behind with Brea and her parents.

"See ya at school  tomorrow and then did you want to come over to get ready for the party  or should I meet you at your place?" Brea asks after telling her parents  she would be minute.

"Um... I'll come over  after school but then we can drive back to mine since it's closer  walking distance to the party." I say waving bye to her as I meet with  parents in the car.

The drive home is rather  short considering the fact I do not live that far from the school. I  shut the car door before entering my house going straight for the  kitchen. My eyes scan all over the fridge searching for something to at  least snack on but I find nothing.

"Why don't we order some  take-out or something?" My father says walking in but my mother sighs  before speaking, "We have had take-out for the past five nights James."  She says annoyed.

"Well if you want to  cook be my guest, you haven't really been a help around here anyway  Lauren." My father replies and I can already tell this will turn into a  pointless arguement. I roll my eyes before excusing myself to my room  not really in the mood for their bantering.

I throw myself down on  my bed before getting onto twitter to pass time not really tired enough  to get ready for bed. I see a countless number of irreverent tweets and  retweet a few things that I can't seem to stop laughing at. I hear the  back door slam shut and I know that one of my parents decided to leave  due to being annoyed with each other.

I usually find my mom  the one left in the dark not knowing how to handle the situation and I  feel bad for her, don't get me wrong I love my dad but I will never get  used to seeing her broken from all the hurtful things he says to her.

I walk downstairs and  see my mom sitting on the couch with her face in her hands balling with  tears. I sit down quietly embracing her in my arms hugging her gently, I  don't dare ask what happened because I know it would only break her  more.

"I never thought I would  be the one crying in my daughter arms." She breathes out trying to calm  herself. I've always kept to myself not really throwing my heart out on  the line to be broken.

I'm that way for a reason, this exact reason to be honest.
