JOSH'S POV
The phone rang a few times, then went to voice mail. I laughed at the recorded message. It was the chorus of a song by Little Mix. They sang...
Hey, how ya doin? Sorry you can't get through. Why don't you leave your name, and your number, and we'll get back to you...
So I did.
"Hey Sophie, it's Josh... I'm just calling to, um... say hi," I paused, unsure of what to say next. "Uh, call me back if you get the chance, yeah...? Talk to you later, bye!" I hung up. I hated leaving messages.
I went back to playing some video games when Zayn texted me to ask if I wanted to go clubbing tonight. I got an idea and rang Zayn.
"Hello...?" Zayn answered.
"Zayn! Hey, I was wondering if it would be okay if I brought a date tonight...?"
"Sure, why not? I'm bringing Perrie..." Zayn told me.
"That's funny, because the girl I'm going to ask is a fan of Little Mix, I believe..." I laughed.
"Oh really? Then she can come for sure!" I smiled at Zayn's genuine laugh.
"Okay, see you soon mate..."
"Bye," Zayn's voice said quietly.
I hung up and went back to my game. Only a few minutes later, my mobile began to vibrate. I picked it up and studied the screen-- it was Sophie!
"Sophie?" I asked into the phone.
"Josh?" she giggled.
"Heyyy!" I greeted her.
"Hi, how are you?" Sophie said curtly.
"I'm good, I'm good," I told her. "I was actually wondering if you wanted to go clubbing tonight with me and the boys in the band...?" I mentally slapped myself because I half asked- half stated it. I always had to go and be awkward like that.
"Sure, that sounds like fun!" She kind of giggled. I wondered if her friends were listening in.
"Okay, great!" I'm sure my smile was evident even through the phone. We agreed on a time and place to meet, and I would take her straight to the club.
This was going to be a good night.

Awww, how cute is that? Ok, question time! What's the cutest way you've ever been asked out? My friend's boyfriend had four of his friends paint their chests with "PROM" when he asked her to prom and it was adorable!! Have you had any cute moments like that? I would love to hear about it :)
