Chapter 6

Jaden

"Wait what?" I asked scratching my head. I wanted to make sure I heard her correctly. "I don't think we should kiss," Aubri said making eye contact. "Damn.." I'm hit, "Why? Any girl out here would accept it but you're acting like you're too good.." I said to her and she looked me deep in the eyes. "Excuse you? I never said I was too good, I don't go around kissing everybody I meet, that's all." she said, slightly offended. "Chill with that," I laugh, "I really like you and you just--"

"We just met! I don't care how famous you are or how much money you have, alright? I don't care about any of that. You're still human, you know? Just because you're used to getting everything you want doesn't mean you're automatically getting me. It's late and I'm going home, nice meeting you Jaden," she stormed away. I like her though, she's bad.. Does she have self respect? Hell yeah. Put me on her waiting list or whatever. I need to apologize, but how?

Aubri

"Lane, I have to go home. Now." I found her in the living room cuddled up with Mateo. "What did he do?" Mateo said sitting up to help Lane find her keys. "Moises! They're leaving," Mateo called out when they finally found them.

"Hey, I'll put our numbers in." Mateo said and we traded phones.

"Aw you're leaving?" Moises asked when he entered the room.

"Yeah it's late and-"

"Late? It's only ten. What did Jaden do?" Moises asked as well.

"Why am I automatically the assumption?" Jaden asked appearing at the door.

"Well anyways good night Moises and Mateo," I said and they both hugged me.

"We'll see you soon right? You're too cool to not kick it with us," Moises said.

"Of course, see you guys," I said walking towards the front door.

"Bri..Wait," Jaden reached his hand out.

"Nah chill with that," I mocked him.

I flipped my hair and walked out. I heard Moises and Mateo make the burn noise behind me and Lane snickered. "Hey Moi you can add another tally to the board," Mateo said and the two brothers laughed. "Hey babe call me if you're not coming back!" Mateo shouted at Lane. "I'm staying with you loser! I'll be back in an hour," she called back. She led me to a brand new four door silver Porsche. "This is YOUR car?" I asked unbelievingly. "Yeah, just a little gift from my dear friend Sean." she said hopping in. "Oh yeah you are friends with Big Sean," I said hopping in. I gave her directions and without a problem we pulled up in my driveway.

We had to sneak into my room to avoid waking up my mom. Not in the mood for an intervention. "Oh your room is s'cute!" Lane said shutting the door behind her. "Thanks," I said plopping on the bed. "So what did Jaden do?" she asked sitting next to me and turning the tv on. "He tried to kiss me, then my phone rang and it was Daric. So I answered, then I hung up. Jaden asked if it was my boyfriend. I told him it wasn't and made it seem like I'm single and then he tried to kiss me again and I curved. He came off cocky, pretty much calling me ungrateful and I basically set it straight that I wasn't some little groupie hoe." I shortened the story.

"So that's the same guy that kept calling earlier right?" she asked, averting her eyes from the screen. "Yeah. I've been avoiding him." "Ooh scandalous, but seriously girl I praise you because you have some guts," she said. "How so?" "Well first off, Jaden is a cutie pie. If I was your age, he would be mine. Second, for being that faithful little girl cause you got it going on and then you're over here curving a calabasas kid? And third for keeping your cool," she explained making me laugh. "I guess so, that reminds me I need to FaceTime Daric. You mind?" She shook her head "That's all you." she laid back on my pillows. I pulled open my Macbook and called him. "Heeeeey baaaaby," he answered cheerfully. Those creamy green eyes I loved sparkling. "Hey babe." "You look beautiful," he said making my face get all hot. "Thanks, what're you doing?" I asked fixing my hair in the camera. "Talking to the most beautiful girl in the world," he replied biting his lip. So cute I wanted to throw up.

"AAAWWWW!" Lane yelled scaring him. "Who was that?!" he panicked. I motioned for Lane to get next to me. "Hi I'm Lane," she waved in the camera. "Oh you're the famous cousin Lane. I saw you on the Victoria Secret fashion show," he tried to say it all cool, but I could tell he was starstruck. "Aw forreal," she flashed her big grin.

"Wait babe you said you didn't watch that," I said, he looked guilty. "I mean, it's Victoria's Secret so I'm not supposed to tell," he said all lame. "Nice word play player," Lane laughed. "Thanks!" he beamed. "Ooooohh looks like Daric's got a little crush," I teased him and it was his turn to blush. "Well she's a supermodel!" he defended himself. "True she is. My cousin's hot isn't she?" I asked nudging Lane. "Girl bye, you're like the cutest thing ever. When I was your age my tracks were always showing and I wore Aeropostale. You're not like these other little basics around here," she nudged me back. "Anyways babe what were you doing all day?" Daric asked leaning into the camera. "Just went skating with some of Lane's friends," I said looking down at the keyboard. "My skater girl." He smiled. "Oh and I met Tyler the Creator!" I grinned. "You serious?!" his eyes lit up once more. "He's actually really chill.. He scared me a little at first though." I laughed at the memory.

"He's retarded. I don't know why he was acting like that. Like he clearly saw you with Jaden," Lane said flatly, then covering her mouth realizing she'd brought up his name. "Wait what did she say?" Daric asked. "Jaden Smith, he was at the skate shop" I laughed and smacked Lane's arm. "That fag. He can't skate and his mixtape is ass" He said, "But you're like his biggest fan, so." He rolled his eyes. My face went stale. "Chill. He's not a fag and Cool Cafe is life"

He threw his hands up and laughed, "Okay, okay I'm sorry, relax"

I talked to Daric for another hour before he fell asleep. I forgot about the different timezones. Lane decided it was time to leave after our second movie. "Glad we got to catch up," I said walking her down the stairs. "Yeah me too! We can talk anytime.Hit me up in the morning," she said. We hugged bye and she left.

Jaden

"Teo, give me her number!" I demanded for the third time. "No." "Moises, you have it, give me it," I begged him too. "No man." I tackled Mateo and grabbed his phone then ran down the stairs and outside. I got him off my tail and hid in the bushes so I would have time to scroll. I got it out and then jogged back to the house covered in leaves. "You didn't get it from me," Mateo said when I handed him his phone back. I decided since it was almost 3am I would wait until the morning to call her. "Guuuuys, I'm back." we heard Lane call from the front door. She found us all in the movie room and sat on Mateo. "I'm so sleepy," she complained and he cradled her like a baby. They kissed and forgot we were in the room having their little makeout sesh.

"Lane," I said but she didn't hear me.

"Lane."

No response.

"LANE."

"WHAT JADEN." she said back louder.

"Can you help me with Aubri? I really like her but I screwed up," I asked scratching the back of my head.

"Yeah I know. Call her in the morning; she's not going to want to talk to you. Then I'll drive you over there and you will stand on her porch with candy and Starbucks, a smoothie or something. She'll love you forever," Lane said it like it was rehearsed.

"Really, that's it?"

"Yes Jaden she is my cousin, almost like my sister," Lane said then cuddled back up with Mateo. "Now leave me alone"
