Chapter 3

Jaden

  I’m in the studio freestyling a couple bars over an old Kanye beat when Moises busts in the studio. “Broo,” I give him dap then Mateo comes in after. “Hey J,” Lane, Mateo or Moises’ girlfriend(I can’t really tell), said. “Hey, “I said giving her a hug. Lane came to stay with the them from New York since her and Moi have been friends so long. She’s tall and slim and kind of like my older sister. She also has a body like Iggy.. Then I saw the girl standing behind her. “J, meet my little cousin/your biggest fan.” She said stepping to the side. Beauty runs in the family I guess. “Hey, I’m Aubri.” She smiled with her eyes waving her hand. “Jaden,” I said quietly. She grinned. “I know.” She looked about 5’7, had long, dark beach curls that went down to her hips. It might not all be hers but I don’t care. She had on a black & white striped bandeau top with tight black shorts. I went for a hug and she hugged back. I glanced down. Her body’s just as nice as Lane’s, too.

We must’ve been hugging too long cause she started giggling. ”My bad.” I chuckled, “You’re beautiful,” I said pulling away. “Thanks,” she said with a half smile, taking a step back. “So are you freestyling short?” Mateo asked me taking over the sound board. “Yeah I was, I only have one more verse then we can hit the Lab,” I said entering the booth. He played the track and I started spitting verses. Aubri’s staring at me the whole time. So I decided to mess with her.

“Look at Aubri over there, yeah she starin’. I don’t really care ‘cause by tonight we gone have a romantic flair and—man, she bad and I like it. This girl is super fly, she gon really need a sidekick. Walking ‘round unprotected then jokers gonna get hectic,”

   I just kept going and going. After I was done, I look up to see Mateo and Moises on the floor laughing. I left the booth to see what was so funny. Aubri’s facial expression was hilarious. “That was pretty good bro we should keep it.” Teo said after catching his breath. “Wait are y’all really gonna keep that?” Aubri asked, pursing her lips. “Yeah that was fly” Moises said and Lane nodded in agreement. “Why, you didn’t like it?” I asked. “I never said that,” she said, trying to hide her smile. “Okay we can leave now, I got the recording down,” Mateo said breaking the silence.

  We got our stuff together and exited the building to Moi’s car. “I’m sitting in the front!” Lane says hopping in next to him. Teo gets on the other side and I open the door for Aubri. Once we were all in I start thinking of stuff to talk about. The drive is long so I made sure I got a lot of questions in. Halfway there Aubri’s phone rang and ‘Hello’ started playing. She quickly muted it then tried to hide her voice. “I’m your ringtone, which means you listen to my music.” I smiled at her. “Yeah, you’re alright” she said looking down. That’s when Lane turns around from the front and violates. “He’s alright, but you still have him as your ringtone? Don’t act like you weren’t a fan Aubri. You used to tell me how y’all were gonna get married. AND when we went to see Justin and they performed Never Say Never you would not stop crying. Don’t play that ‘I was never a Jadenator’ ish either” Aubri started laughing as well as everyone else.  ”Geez Lane why you gotta put me out there like that?” She said while she was on her phone.

After that we just listened to music and talked about nothing when Aubri spoke up.

“Wait we’re going to Skatelab right?” She asked.

“Yeah.”

"But I don’t have my board.." She pouted.

"You skate?" I asked.

" Well, yeah."

"We can stop by one of the shops and get you a deck if you want." Moi says.

"Are you sure?" She started to get nervous.

"Yeah I’ll pay for it.." I say, putting my hand on her lap.

"Thanks." She smiles, then moves my hand.
