A Few Weeks Pass…
Aubri
Jaden and I were on our way to The Strand House in Manhattan beach for our third formal date.
He opened the car door for me and stuck his hand out.
“Such a gentleman,” I smiled stepping out onto the concrete. We entered the restaurant and the waiter immediately recognized him.
“Ah Monsieur Smith your table is right this way,” the waiter said in a fake french accent.
He led us through the restaurant to the back where we had a private and more silent area set up.
“Jaden this is so perfect,” I smiled after he sat me down in my chair.
“You’re perfect,” he said making me smile. We ordered our drinks and got to talk more privately with the waiter gone.
“Why me?” I ask curiously, leaning in towards him.
“Why you what?”
“Why me out of all these girls? You can have any girl from anywhere but you pick me..” I said and he grinned which I loved.
“What you said just explained it all, I can have any girl but you I couldn’t just have. You didn’t drool over me and you just carry yourself so perfectly and I just fell for it, You’re confident in yourself but you’re humble at the same time, if that makes any sense.” he confessed and I smiled again.
“Well I’m beyond glad that you chose to get to know me,” I said and he nodded in agreement. The waiter returned with our drinks and we ordered our food. It came back shortly after. When we finished the waiter walked by, picked our plates up, and left without a word.
We kinda just sat there in silence and Jaden looked like he was thinking long and hard about something. A few seconds later he sits up and looks at me with a straight face.
“Aubri?”
“Hm?”
“Can I tell you something?” He grabs my hand and starts twiddling my fingers.
I felt butterflies in my stomach.
Good lord. Be cool.
“Yeah, what’s up?”
“So..We’ve only known eachother for a minute and we haven’t really chilled that much, but when we’re not together we’re always talking either on the phone or just texting. I really like you. A lot. All the other girls I’ve dated never made me feel this way. You’re so understanding. I love how you’re an outgoing, down-for-whatever type person. You don’t let people walk over you, and you have so much confidence. I haven’t been able to focus since the night we slept over at your house. You’re like the only thing I ever think about now. Everything about you is just perfect, Aubri. I don’t know, I said I wasn’t into relationships, but..”
He’s not gonna say it. Keep dreaming Bri. Don’t get your hopes up..
“I I can’t wait any longer. I want you to be with me.”
He did not just…
“Oh my god,” I just started grinning and covered my face.
“So is that a yes?” he said hopefully, and held my hand tighter.
I nodded and he went over to my side of the table to kiss me. It wasn’t just like any of our other kisses either, it was one that said ‘now you’re mine’ and it was amazing.
