Chapter 8

Aubri

I swear my heart was going to jump out my chest. Jaden Smith as in Will and Jada Smith’s child kissed me. “Uhh Moises can you not post that? Like anywhere,” I asked not trying to seem desperate or mad at what just happened. “No problems, that’ll probably cause controversy,” he told me. From the corner of my eye i could see Jaden standing in that same spot staring at me. “Wow this is awkward,” Lane said quietly. “Okay let me make digital copies of these and we can leave,” Moises said hooking his computer and camera up. Moises comes back a few minutes later and we all left the building into the parking lot and said our goodbyes. Things felt so tense between us, so I spoke up.

Jaden

I was about to go back in the house with Moises, but Aubri stopped me.

"Jaden, text me."

"Uh alright.."

"Yeah, just get my number from Moises or Teo."

Little did she know, I already had it. She gave me a final wave goodbye and climbed in the car to go home. After they drove off, I walked back inside. My thoughts were swimming through my head and I was oblivious to everything going on.

Aubri

Okay Aubri you can do this, it will be okay, I told myself in my head. I picked up my phone and dialed the number. It felt like forever until the phone started ringing. After about the fifth ring I was ready to hang up. “No just leave a message, he’ll get it,”  I assured myself again. The voicemail picked up. “Hey it’s Daric, I’m not here right now so leave a message, bye.”

“Hey Daric it’s Aubri. Um I was just calling to say that this long distance thing isn’t working. I mean I really like you and it’s not your fault at all. I’m the one that moved away. I hope we can be friends and stuff but at least you can hangout with all the other girls freely now right? Call me if you want, it was fun while it lasted, bye.”

I hung up the phone quickly and sank down on my bed. Well what was done is done. I think the kiss between Jaden and I had something to do with it but I was a free to do whatever I want now. Especially since my mom isn’t gonna be home till tomorrow afternoon. I’m alone in my house on a Friday night. My phone buzzes. Yes, I put it on vibrate this morning. I really need to change my ringtone…

Jaden: Aubrii , It’s Jaden .

Me: Hey ,

Jaden: Sorry About Earlier …

Me: Nah you’re good . I just wasn’t ready , haha .

Jaden: Oh Okay , Wyd ?

Me: At home . Alone . Bored . Wanna come chill ? You can bring Moises & the love birds too .

Jaden: Yeah , Moi’s Not Here But We’ll Be Over .

Half an hour later, I hear my doorbell ring and run downstairs. “Hey,” I opened my front door. “Hey Bri,” Lane hugged me then walked in. I greeted Mateo then Jaden. 

“Sup,” he hugged me.

“Thanks for coming, I was dying over here.” I said slumping against the wall.

“Anytime.”

We made our way to the back where my living room is. Lane and Mateo sat on the couch flipping through channels. I broke off to get a drink from the kitchen. After I grabbed an Izze, I started to head back and Jaden was standing behind me. “Ah!” I yelped. “Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you.” he laughed at my reaction. I leaned against the fridge to calm myself. “So did you not enjoy that kiss earlier?” Jaden said putting his arm over my head leaning towards me. “I never said that,” I smirked twisting open the cap. This time I was fully aware of what was happening  when he leaned in to kiss me. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him back. It was perfect. PERFECT. Excuse my thirst. We pulled away and he licked his lips. “Not bad,” I Smirked then turned to walk into the other room.
