Chapter 9

Aubri

I put my towel wrap on and head out of the bathroom to see a folded sheet of paper on my nightstand. Jaden’s asking me on a date. Wait, no. He’s taking me on a date. How demanding of him. I smiled at the little note. After getting dressed and making the bed, I ran downstairs to see the huge mess we left in the living room last night. Blankets, dvds , popcorn , and cups were all on the floor. I look over at the clock. 4:49pm, shit. My mom could be home any minute now! I quickly called my cell from the house phone and found it under a pile of pillows. I started to dial her number and she answered almost instantly.

“Helloo?” she said in a singsong voice. I could tell she was on a highway.

“Mom! Hey mom!” I said picking the trash off the floor. 

“I’m almost home. What’re you doing?” She asked.

“Cleaning. Hey can I go out with some friends at 7?” ‘friends’. HA! I’ll eventually tell her about Jaden but not now. I just met the kid. She wouldn’t approve no matter who he was.

“What friends? You just got here.” Her voice was suspicious.

“Lane’s friends. Kendall, Kylie,Pia..” I lied.

“No boys?” 

“No mom. No boys.” I mumbled.

‘Mhmm. There’s traffic so I won’t be at the house till later. I want you home by 10.”

“But mom..” I whined. I really don’t know how long we’re gonna be on this date to be honest.

“Aubri, no. 10 or you can stay home.” She said in a angry tone.

“Okay, okay.” I sighed

“Alright be safe. Don’t go in anybody’s house!” She yelled.

“Goodbye, mom! Love you” I said.

“Love you too bye-bye”

After I finish cleaning I cook something for my mom and sit it in the microwave for when she gets home. I check the time on my phone and it’s 6:00 pm. Only an hour to get ready. 

For my first date with Jaden I feel like I have to look my absolute best. So before I decided on what I was going to wear I called him.

"Yo."

"Jaden."

"Yeah,"

"What should I wear?"

"Don’t wear a dress. I’ll be there in 45 minutes, bye."

"Ughh bye."

I went through every outfit I had until I found what I was looking for.

I did my hair and makeup. With twenty minutes to go I put my outfit on and finished charging my phone. 

*Ding-dong* He was early! I took my time coming to the door before I slowly opened it. 

"Hey gorgeous," Jaden greeted me, pulling in for a hug.

"Hey J," I smiled pulling away and smoothing out my fit.

"So are you ready to go?" 

"Yeah, just let me grab my bag," I headed upstairs and grabbed it.

"Alright let’s go," I said once I came back down. He led me to his freshly washed Escalade and opened the door for me. "Where are we going?" I asked once he got in on the other side. "Secret," he smiled, then signaled for the driver to pull off.
