You Can't Make Me Do That?!

"Sam!" Josh called me as he got onto the bus. Drew left a few minutes ago, and I've been waiting for the show to end since. "Sam!" I opened the curtain to my bunk and stuck my head out.

"What?" I asked, pulling one of my headphones out.

"I had to make sure you were still alive. You've been here with Chrissy for hours." He said, walking by me to go take a shower. I heard Tyler come on the bus and I got out of my bunk.

"Did you tell him?" I asked, sitting beside the sweaty, nasty Tyler who always waited until after Josh to take a shower.

"About us?" He asked. "No." He paused. "About that?" He asked, pointing to my arm. "I don't even know what to think myself."

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"I mean I need answers before I can attempt to explain this to Josh." He said, not looking at me. He hasn't looked at me since he got onto the bus.

"Tyler, look at me." I said, and he raised his head to look at me. I looked right at him and locked eyes before I went in for the kiss. After a few seconds, I broke it. "I can't love you."

"I know you can't, Sam." He said, looking down at my arms. "But you need someone to help you."

"No." I said, looking right at him. "I need you to love me, too!" I said, almost yelling.

"I do, Sam!" He yelled back at me. "I do love you, but Josh won't let this happen."

"Okay. He doesn't need to know." I said, looking him right in the eyes again. "No one has to know but us."

"If you can love me, I can save you." He said, keeping a straight face, but making me want to laugh. I smiled and nodded and Tyler went to collect his things for a shower.

"Ya know." I said as he walked away, keeping myself calm, but wanting to cry a little. "I don't know which is sadder." I whispered, looking down at the floor. "The fact that he thinks he can save me, or the fact that I know he can't." I stopped, letting a single tear fall before I stood up. I made sure I had my phone and climbed into my bunk. I checked for texts, and of course: Drew.

'Hey, kid.' -D

'Hey.' -S

'What's up? You and Josh cool?' -D

'Yeah. He's really passive aggressive.' -S

'That's good. I guess. What are you doing now?' -D

'Yeah. I'm lying in my bunk, texting you. Waiting for Josh to get out of the shower. The usual after show things. You?' -S

'Sounds fun. I'm just lying on my couch, bored as fuck. Texting you.' -D

'Oh. So I'm boring?' -S

'No! That's not what I meant!' -D
