"She's awake, but the doctors don't want you in there until she's completely stable." The doctor told me.

"How long has she been awake?" I asked, freaking out. I was filled with rage, hope, happiness, and every other emotion possible all at once. "You told me you'd tell me if anything changed. This is a big change!"

"Sir. We needed to make sure she wasn't just throwing up the medicines we gave her. She needs to be stable before you can see her." The doctor told me, making me want to punch through a wall.

"When should she be stable?" I asked, barely keeping me cool.

"We don't know, sir, but hopefully soon." He told me. I turned around, walking back to Tyler's room.

"She's okay?" Tyler asked when I opened the door. He didn't even give me time to walk in.

"She's awake, but she's not stable enough for visitors." I told him, sitting back down in my chair.

*Sam's POV*

I opened my eyes again... Why? I looked around at the machines with my vitals, and the nurses rushing around outside my little room.

One spotted me and her eyes lit up. She came in and asked if I was alright. I nodded, but didn't show any expression, because, at this moment, I can't feel anything anyway.

"Do you feel alright? Any pain? Too hot? Too cold?" She asked, worried. I shook my head and she smiled. "Good, honey." She said, leaving the room.

I stared at the ceiling, blankly. She came back a few minutes later. "The doctor said your brother and boyfriend are outside, but you don't need visitors right now." My boyfriend? Who? Tyler? I honestly was happy to hear this. I didn't want Josh to see me like this. Or Tyler for that matter. I don't want anyone to see me right now. I lay there... Staring... Until I blacked out again... Good. Maybe it's permanent this time.

"Honey..." I heard as my eyes opened again. I instantly felt heat running over my body, making me sweat. "Good. You're awake..." She trailed off, but I didn't listen. I looked around and caught eyes with the doctor.

"Where... Is... Josh?" I asked, taking deep breaths between words. My mind was racing. I don't want to die without seeing him one last time. "Josh..." I heard my voice fading with every word I spoke.

"Honey... You're okay. You're in the ICU. We'll go get your brother after we take vitals." The nurse said, whispering with the doctor before looking back at me. She smiled and left the room.

A few minutes went by, and they felt like hours. "Josh?" I asked, as the door opened.

"Tyler?" I asked, seeing him walk in.

"Sam!?" He sounded way too happy to see me for having fought right before this. "I'm so happy! You're alive!" He said, hugging me and kissing my forehead. "I love you so much! I'm so sorry!"

"I... I need to see Josh." I told him, trying to be nice about it. The thought counted, but I didn't ask to see him. I wanted to see my brother.

"I'll go get him." He told me, leaving the room. A few seconds later, Josh walked in, and I still couldn't make myself smile.

"Josh..." I trailed off, trying not to cry.

"Sam!" He said, hugging me and kissing my forehead, just like Tyler did. The doctor had left the room to check on some other patients, and it was just us. I took Josh's hand and he kneeled beside my bed, so we were at eye level.

"You know I love you, right?" I asked him, being serious. He nodded, looking right at me. "You know I didn't do this to hurt you, right?"

"I know, Sam. Don't apologize to me." He said, kissing my hand. "I love you, and I know you love me. You wouldn't hurt me like that."

"Good..." I said, closing my eyes and taking a deep breathe. "I... I don't want to..." I breathed for a second before continuing. "Try anymore."

"Why not, Sam?" He asked me.

"I only make things worse, Josh. Don't even try to lie to me. I love you. I really do, but I don't want to."

"Then you don't love me!" He said, obviously overwhelmed. "If you loved me or Tyler, you wouldn't doubt your existence! You'd want to stay! For us, Sam!"

"Josh! I'm LEAVING for you!" I said, almost screaming at him.

"Why?" He asked me.

"Because I love you two." I told him. "I love you too much to let you deal with me."

"Samantha!" He yelled, throwing his arms out toward me. "We love you too much to let you go! Why can't you understand that?"

"I don't want to understand that, Josh!" I told him, listening to one of the machines beside me beep more and more with how angry I was getting. "I don't want to anymore!"

"Sir. I'm going to have to ask you to leave. Her heart rate is rising above normal." The nurse said, coming in. I heard the machine beeping, but I didn't think people in the halls could hear it, too. Josh didn't want to leave. I could tell, but I couldn't say anything to make him stay.

"Please..." He said, leaving. "Stay alive for me." And with that, he was gone. I closed my eyes and left reality once again. Praying, once again, that this time it was permanent.

*Drew's POV*

"Babe, I have to go. She might be dead!" I pleaded to my girlfriend, Natalie.

"If you go, I'm breaking up with you!" She yelled, getting angrier by the second.

"Nat, please don't be like this!" I begged. "Come with me! Then, you'll know that nothing going on with us! I just need to make sure she's okay!"

"Fine. Fuck it." She said, making me instantly happy. "We're breaking up. You can go see your little whore while I stay here. In MY home."

"What?!" I asked her, pulling at my hair. "You know what! Fine. If you want to be like that, then I will be, too. We're officially over." I yelled, leaving with the bag that I've already packed. I bought a ticket to Ohio, so I could see Sam.
