It isn't so funny anymore, now is it?

"All were accounted for in attendance that day. All except for the girl at the back of the class. Yet, no one even knew or cared that she was gone."
On a fragile night,
One star in the sky,
A girl, she sits there waiting to die.
Nobody saw her.
Nobody cared.
Her life had spiraled into despair.
Her parents weren't home.
They treated her like shit.
Unloved and unwanted.
Her mind couldn't handle it.
Out the front door.
Off she went.
With no one to stop her from running from home,
With no incentive or motive and no where to go,
She walked to the highway,
Came up to that cement wall.
Her hands felt cold to the touch of the only thing keeping her from her last fall.
She'd been thinking about this since last fall.
Nothing helped her, nothing at all.
The doctors said it was just her age,
She'll grow out of it when she's past her teen stage.
That was two years ago.
And the pain is still there.
So she took off her shoes,
Then climbed up on that oh-so supportive wall.
And let her heart race.
Her tears streaming down her face.
The moon glowed in her eye.
She leaned over the edge, the lights passed by.
Tonight is the last night she'll have to cry.
No more nightmares,
Or monsters,
Or pain inside.
