Sad Little Poem

Please don't cry.
I love the way you smile,
But that frown removes the passion in your eyes.
The way they said I want you to be mine.
Back in September in the warmth of my arms.
Yet, now here we are,
I'm holding your hand.
Wishing you said it wasn't the end.
The tears drip down onto my hands and burn the love into my skin.
Goodbye my dear,
I'll see you again.
In a different fairy tale
Where the hero saves the day,
Kisses you gently,
Then lies you down to dream about me.
Dear god, I just want to say
Through the tears in my eyes and choking on my words,
I'll love you forever, I wish I could stay,
But the world is so cruel and tears us apart.
Along with the way this breaks my heart.
Just remember us for what we were,
You were my everything,
I know that for sure.
