Chapter 9: Saying Good-Bye is the Hardest Thing to do

"DON'T MOVE OR WE WILL SHOOT!" the same man yelled. Akitaoshi whimpered. "Rena please hurry" she whispered. Gunshots went off. "RENA PLEASE HURRY!" she yelled loudly. "Those were just warning shots, get ready for the real ones" the man said with a smirk.

"Did you hear that?" Meka asked, worriedly. "Yes I did, and if they did anything to Akitaoshi they will damn well pay for it" I said, running in the direction of the gunshots. "That's a new one" Axel said.

"I'll count backwards from ten so say your prayers little one" the man said. "What should I do?" Akitaoshi asked, panicking. The man started counting. "10......9........8......7......6....5.....4.....3......2." Akitaoshi started to move around frantically. "Stand still!" he roared at her. Akitaoshi whimpered. AKITAOSHI GET DOWN!" I yelled. She yelped.

"Huh?" the man said confused. Ice growled causing the man to shoot him. "ICE!" Axel screamed. "Leave him!" Meka yelled. "He's hurt" Axel said. Axel turned to face Ice. Bang Axel went down in a blink of an eye.

"Axel!" Meka and Akoya yelled. "Damn it, come on girls!" I yelled. The man who shot the others to aim to shoot us, the gun clicked. "Damn it, I'm out of ammo!" The man yelled. "Sir is it time to bring the laser out?" An officer asked. "Yes indeed, bring out the big boy!" He yelled giddy. We stopped to see what they were planning, we saw them bring out a large cannon-like machine with a little point that was faced towards us.

One of the officers flipped a switch and the thing came to life. Whomp whomp yelp the machine took both Akoya and Meka down. "Ha ha, it home boys" the leading officer said. "Um... sir, We didn't hit all of them, one is still alive and is heading
toward us" one of the men said. "Try again at medium power!" he yelled. I heard a clicking sound and saw that is was aimed toward me. I looked up and saw a greenish light come from it.

Whomp whomp yelp "Did it hit?" he asked, hopefully. They all waited for the dust to clear. I was hurt, but I was still able to move. "Nope sir she's still alive" the man said. PUT THAT THING ON FULL POWER GOD DAMN IT!" he yelled. "Wait, stop!" Akitaoshi yelled. "Hold your fire" he instructed.

"I'll go with you if you let me say goodbye" Akitaoshi said. "Fine" he said gruffily. Akitaoshi walked over to Ice's body. "I love you Ice, you were like a brother to me, I'll miss you" she said. She walked over to Axel's body. She bent down to pet him. "Oh, Axel I love you also, your the softie I'll miss you" she said.

She walked over to Meka and Akoya's limp bodies. "You two could were the best friends and sisters I could I ever have, I'll be good" she said to them. She came to me. "I'll miss you most of all Rena" she said hugging me. Akitaoshi I said in my head. "Be careful and be good" she said petting me. Akitaoshi I yelled in my mind. "Good-bye" she said with tears in her eyes. "Let's go to the hideout!" The man yelled. They took Akitaoshi in a helicopter and started to leave.

"NO, AKITAOSHI!" I screamed. I tried to follow but I was too injured to go too far; I passed out. "Rena, wake up" Dr. Aoshi said. "Akitaoshi?" I asked. "She's not doing to hot, give her more painkillers" Dr. Aoshi demanded. "Those won't work Dr. Aoshi" Axel said. "I want to try something" Akoya said.

"Ooh ooh oooh" Akoya started singing, soon I was asleep. "Mmph, huh, what, where am I?" I asked. "Relax, your with me" a familiar voice said. "Meziku?" I asked. "Yes" she answered. "I've missed you so much, Meziku, Silver's gone worth Red-Eye and she took Kiba along, I said, brokenheartedly. "Ah I knew this would happen" she said, knowingly.

"What the hell do you mean, Meziku, I'm not following here" I said. "I've read about in stories about a curse, know as the Red-Eye curse" she explained. Meziku's body shimmered. "Your waking up" Meziku said. "Wait, when can I see you again?" I asked. "In your dreams" she answered. "Good-bye" Meziku whispered.

"Goodbye" I said over and over. "Rena wake up!" Axel yelled in a hushed tone. "What smack Ow!" he yelled. "Sorry Axel" I said. "It's okay" he said. "What time is it?" I asked. "Nighttime" he answered.

I rubbed my eyes and looked at him, he looked nervous. "Listen, Rena, I'm going away for awhile" he said. "Wait, why?" I asked. "Dr. Aoshi said that there are some guys who are spying on Red-Eye and they asked Dr. Aoshi who he thought would be a good fit for spying behind enemy lines and he told them about me, he asked and we talked it over, I agreed and he said I would have to leave tonight" he explained. "You can't leave Axel" I said.

Don't worry Rena, I'll be safe" he comforted. "What about getting Akitaoshi back?" I asked. He was stunned for moment. "Your smart, you'll figure it out, see you later, little ray of darkness" he said, setting off. I waited until he was out of sight, then I broke down crying.
