Hello Baby Blue

How do I begin to tell my story? I would not call it a true adventure but it is the truth despite others opinions as well as what they have heard. It is what I know and what I am learning about myself not what they believe. It is my life and duty to share my story.

I, Kate Pierce, am just another confused freshman in a small high school of a nowhere town just swimming with the current to stay above water to survive. It is not that I struggle with my studies. In fact, I have straight A's in all honors classes to be number one in the class. Anyhow, it is not about that. It is about the friends, family, enemies, and love we face.

I think I have been in love. But what do I know about it? I'm just a nerdy band geek although I'm not completely antisocial. I have a few friends who have already found their place in the world of the other gender; some even through sex. And then there's me: who has never even kissed a boy. Is there something wrong with me?

It was the first day of freshman year and everyone was obviously stressed. We were in a new school with strange faces and still trying to find our way around. I went to my locker on the third floor only to find it was blocked my crush who luckily had the one next to mine.

Honestly, I was a nervous wreck. My purple skirt twisted over their black leggings as my deep brown hair covered my chocolate eyes and shirt. I am such a lame excuse for a girl. Cautiously, he stepped aside and I tried to opened my locker.

" How was your summer? " Jack Olson stated. We turned to face one another. Immediately I became lost in his ocean eyes.

The halls became quiet and before I could react my back was pressed against a locker. His lips locked onto mine while his sandy blond hair surrounded me. The kiss deepened with warmth and happiness. His strong arms held my hips as........

"Hello?" Jack asked, "Earth to Kate?"

I was day dreaming again. Instead of an answer I stood there like a simple moron drowning in his eyes. What a great way to start this year by embarrassing myself.

"Sorry I was caught off-guard. It was great. How was yours?" I muttered and looked away to finally unlock my locker.

" Awesome." he paused when he squeezed his self between my locker and I. "I hope I don't seem to forward or random but I just want to know you. I mean if you do not mind and now I'm babbling on like some sort of idiot. Please feel free to stop me anytime. " Jack continued but I clapped my hand over his mouth. It was his turn to blush.

"Don't worry yourself about it. I'll see you around. " I smiled and walked away with a new found confidence as the bell rang. My heart raced as I hurried to my first class: Physics.

Honestly, unless one desires to be a physicist or even a rollercoaster engineer, why do we have to take physics. No one cares about how the quadratic formula is used to find time when given acceleration, velocity, and initial position. I was not looking forward to it until I stepped into the doorway.

Smiling I noticed Jack who locked onto my eyes. He was sitting behind an empty desk smirking. Gracefully I took my seat. Even if I had to sit directly in front of the teacher, at least I knew Jack had a great view. Maybe I could actually learn to like Physics.

"My name is Mr. Rae Simons, call me Simons, Sir, or even Mr. Rae.." He droned on as I day dreamed. I could not wait to go back to my locker.
