Chapter 7 Physics

Walking into Physics was honestly heart stopping. I made it just in time for the late bell to ring while flopping into my chair.

The whole class, except Jack Olson, glared at me.

"Nice of you to join us, Miss Pierce" Mr.Simons, our teacher lectured. My focus kept on my open notebook, I wanted to be invisible.

I tried to pay attention to the nonsense on the board when something poked my side. I tried to ignore the fact but it was irritating. Cautiously, I turned only to discover Jack's arm reaching out with a small white piece of paper.

"This is it" I thought to myself. Gladly I took the note and returned to my notebook.

Unfolding the note had to be one of the loudest sounds in the world because Mr. Simons turned around sharply.

"Ms. Pierce, this is the second time you have interrupted my class today and I will not stand for such foolishness. " Simons snapped his hands and I regretfully handed over the note before I had the chance to read it. " I'll see you at lunch detention." he barked as the class stood to move on to next period. Unfortunately I was not saved by the bell. Damn. I have no luck.

It was lunch time when I marched up to the Physics room, sandwich in hand,without telling Gen or Wade. Hopefully, they would understand my absence. I mean it was for the benefit of my love life.

Knocking before entering, I noticed the room was actually occupied not only by Mr. Simons, but by Princess Christina, Star Jock Kevin Walkers, Queen Bees Hailey and Margret, Jack, and now band geek Kate Pierce.

What a colorful bunch!

As I was about to take my seat, Simons called me to the front. The others shushed their murmurs to ease drop.

"Now about this note you have been reading in my class.." he began.

"I did not even get a chance to read it." I countered.

"Let's settle that then! It says ' Friday night, after being under the lights, although it may be late, join me for a mystery date, A place for two, a movie for me and you. '"

Constantly I watched Jack. His impression unchanging. Maybe it wasn't his work but damn I hoped it was.

"Awwww! My little sis has a secret admirer! Why don't you do anything like that babe?" Christina whined. Her fingers dug into Kevin's arm. He looked like he wanted to chew off his arm.

"Soon to be sister" I muttered turning.

"Either way it's adorable!" Christina assured.

"Not just adorable, freaking adorable!" Mr. Simons spoke then winked to Christina. I wanted to vomit.

"I'm not sure if I'm even going so if you don't mind...," I replied taking the note as well as my seat. I began to eat my lunch.

"But you have to! It would be so much fun!" Hailey cried. I shrugged pretending it didn't bother me, but still kept an eye on Jack. He was enjoying his lunch and talking to Kevin. My doubts grew. I was near shaking.

I walked back up to Mr. Simon's desk after throwing out the foil from my lunch.

"Can I leave now?" I asked.

"Sure," he answered "Just remember, though, if you need to talk, I'll be here to listen." Simons winked and turned back to his computer. Walking away, I nearly gagged on my own vomit. What a creep!

After rejoining my friends down in the lunch room, the day passed rather slowly. I hadn't heard anything about the note or who sent it. However, there was still a chance that Jack did send it and that kept me going.
