chapter 5 Rollerbladin'

That Sunday afternoon was one unexpected.

Gen Wade and I went rollerblading at the new rink. It was packed since it was the best thing in this town since sliced bread. Little kids and teens falling on their butts was honestly hilarious.

"Don't turn around." Gen warned.

"Why?" I questioned as I turned.

But it was too late. I can be so stubborn.

Rounding the sides again was when I first noticed him.

Jack.

"I told you. I told you not to turn around and what do you do?" Gen blabbered on when Wade covered her mouth with his hand. He nodded his head and they skated away leaving me all alone as I awaited death.

My heart sped up as other passed me by. How could I face him after the party? I was so nervous. Jack grew closer. My anxiety sky rocked. Boy, did I have it bad.

"Hey" we both spoke together.

His pale white cheeks turned a bright red as I bet my own did. Before I had the chance to respond he cut me off.

"First of all, I want to apologize. I should not have gotten drunk and let what happened happen. I hope you can forgive me and thank you for bringing me home." His eyes could not meet mine. He really meant it. I hope.

" Don't worry about it, and it wasn't just me. Wade helped." I shrugged not wanting to seem as desperate as I felt.

"Well I guess I'll have to thank him." With that said, he gripped my hand between both of his only to race to Wade. He nearly dragged me behind him the entire time.

His hands were soft spreading a new warmth through my entire body. What was this feeling? Was it love? I shuddered.

Jack's hand never left my own. Meanwhile Wade never took his eyes off of him. Who pissed in his cereal?
