The Weekend (part 2)

Sometimes I stand in the rain because one, it is refreshing. Two, it helps clear my head.

  But I'm stupid, not heartless. So, I march back inside once fully soaked to face my demons.

  Earlier, the party was outrageous. Everyone was dancing, singing, drinking, and overall having a good time, except me. I couldn't have a good time not until I tracked down Jack.

  Now, I sound like a stalker, but you know what I mean.

   He was sitting around the living room, red cup in hand, talking with a lovely red head sitting next to him. However, as I took a step closer, my smile slowly fell.

   The space between the two vanished as their lips touched. I wanted to vomit. Instead, I walked right passed the kissing couple outside into the rain.

  You're not allowed to shed tears because you have nothing to be sad over. He was never yours to begin with. But that didn't stop the rain from hiding the stray tears that fell. This would be the time to quote some cheesy love line in an attempt to make myself feel better, but that would make me weak. But I am weak.

"Better to have loved and lost rather than not love at all." However, love was the wrong word. It was far too strong to fit.

I must have been standing there a while. It got chilly and I walked back into my house where the party was still on full blast, yet I didn't care. There was no more strength to anymore. Halfway up the stairs to my bedroom, there was a hand on my shoulder. Cautiously, I turned hoping it was a sober teen just asking where to find a bathroom.

Sadly, majority of people never get what they hope for.

Jack smiled a broad grin on the stair below me. His blond hair looked as if he ran his hand through it too many times and in his hand rest a red cup. Jack spoke leaving a putrid stench in the air.

"Hey beautiful." Jack's voice was steady and overly confident, like usual, yet assumed to have consumed a lot of beer.

"Hey yourself." I replied with a scornful attitude.

"Whoa, someone needs to loosen up. I have been looking for my girl everywhere." He chuckled gracefully. Honestly, I tried to hold myself together, but I just couldn't contain myself.

"Your girl?" I spoke loudly attracting some attention from the couple next to us who gracefully stood up and left. " I would tell that to the girl you were sucking face with earlier." Jack's mouth opened gaping at me in shock as his grip loosed. Taking the advantage of it, I ran up the stairs into my bed room.

Yanking open and shutting it behind me, I realized I was not alone. On my bed, Princess Christina lay under some football jock. Quickly I covered my eyes and yelled. Embarrassed, Chris ran out followed by the smirking boy.

Disgusted, I moved to  my dresser to change out of my wet clothes. When my shirt was halfway off, Jack came rushing through the door. Can people learn how to knock?

After realizing my situation, Jack closed the door over while I finished, this time, knocking to see if I was done. I sat on the edge of my bed while he kneeled on the gray carpet before me. He took my hand in his.

"I want you to know how sorry I am, how stupid I am, and how much I drink. I know that I should have told you instead of waiting for you to find out. I understand we aren't dating, but I want to. I feel like I owe you this much, an apology. I am truly sorry, but I do not have the patience to wait. Will you be my girlfriend?" I remained silent. How can I trust him now? I thought to myself for what seemed like ages.

Restless Jack grew impatient. "I'm pouring my heart out to you. Say something. Please, anything." He begged, his blue ocean eyes meeting my own. So, I did.

Sorry this is short. I have not the time to write due to school and band. I might be updating again this week or maybe two times if I have the chance.
