Nine years later....
Her brow was lined with sweat, she tried her hardest not to scream from the burning pain on her palm. It is pass midnight, everyone is in deep slumber by now. She did not want to create panic among her parents nor neighbors by letting out a bloody scream. But instead she bit her lip as hard as she could, watching as lines settled on her shaking hand. The metallic taste of blood invades her taste buds, feeling that any time soon she would throw up the diner she ate before hitting the bed. The pain slowly started to descend, but still, the throbbing was there.
The symbol was still burning on her hand but not much as before. A circle with three smaller oval shaped as almonds connected at the middle of the circle. She couldn’t directly put her finger o it, but she had this eerie feeling that the image formed seemed oddly familiar.
She closed her eyes as she tried to remember where have she seen it before. Instantly, the image of one of the medallions she once saw at the local market came to her head, it had the same symbol “But why did it appeared on my hand?” Nora asked herself
"Surely mother and father might know about this. I will wait until the morrow to show them the symbol. As if it was going to kill me, right? Well, for once, i do hope that i’m right" She thought
She close her eyes and tried to atleast get some sleep, but the uneven beating of her heart kept Nora awake all night. She looked at her right hand dimly lit by the light of the moon that entered by the open window of her room. The signet flickered slightly on her palm. She let out a sight and prayed to God that everything would be alright.
