"Ma you wanna go with me to the mall?"Ashlen said on the phone."Oh um ok,It's cool...I'll ask Ansley Or Daya."Ashlen said.She seemed so disappointed.I felt so bad for her,she just wanna spend time with her mom."Its ok ma,I understand."She said as she bit her lip."Alright love you ma,bye." Ashlen said before hanging up."Come here baby."I said.She then laid in my arms and said"She promised to take Anjoley to Miami today but she'll be back Sunday."I just hugged her tighter."I'm fine with her doing that,the kid didn't have a life she spent her life in a room.But its the fact that she declined me 4 times I just want to spend time with her I don't ask for much."Ashlen said wiping a tear."Baby you have all the time in the world to spend time with her."I said trying to be positive. She then said"Is that guaranteed Stephen.When I was younger I thought I had all the time in the world with her,but I didn't." I didn't know how to respond to that.She then got out of my arms and out the bed. She then called Ansley as she dressed."Were going shopping ."she said."Pick you up in 20 mins."She said smiling."Alright bye."she said. "Ok I'll be home around 6 well I don't know You know how I get sometimes at the mall,do you want me to take the kids with me?" She asked."If they want to,but I don't mind,I know the boys wouldn't want to go."I said."I'll take Riley And Ashley."She said. She then gave me a kiss and left the room grabbing her keys."Who wants to go with mommy to the mall?!"I could hear Ashlen say in excitement."Me."the girls said in unison. Minutes later the girls was gone and the boys came in my room to play on The xbox one. I was close to calling Ma to tell her how Ashlen feels but Ashlen don't like when I try to handle her problems.
Ashlen pov
"What's wrong with you?"Ansley asked as we sat at the food court."Ma must not think I don't find it important spending time with her.Like it doesn't hurt me when she turns down my offers to spend time with her.Today I asked her to come to the mall but she turned down the offer cause she was taking Anjoley to Miami."I said."You would have thought she'll invite her other two daughters, that she's been missing a good bit of their lives, with her to Miami.Shi* we could had all went down to Miami. But I've been feeling the same I asked to take her to get her nails done but she was like I already got my nails done but maybe next time."Ansley said getting a little mad."I'll have a little talk with her when she comes back." I said."yea I guess." Ansley said finishing up her last bit of food.Once done eating we went shopping for stuff for Her baby's nursery,clothes for our kids,and clothes for ourselves. We really shopped til we dropped.
So today is Sunday and I'm waiting for a call from my ma. I called her a good bit of times,didn't get an answer,so I called dad and he said she left her phone there.So we will eventually see her when we go over there to their new house.Since He moved down here in Oakland since ma wanted to be close to us.
Me being me,I'll pretend like I don't see you if I feel you did me wrong. So ma opened the door and I walked right past her as Stephen and the kids greeted her."You can't speak?"she asked."You can't answer or return my calls?"I snapped back as I hugged dad."I was gonna call you back."ma said."When? Whenever you want ,since you got all the time in the world."I said as dad pinched me due to my attitude."Whats up, what's good,Ashlen?You got a problem?Please tell so we can handle it." Ma said."uh naah I'm good,I'm chilling."I said giving her a fake smile."Oh Ok then."she said.Dad then showed me around."Whats up with you and your mom."dad said as we went on the balcony to sit down ."Oh that's my mom?"I asked as I sat on his lap ."Yes,she is."He said."Starting to feel as if Val is a better mother than her." I said."Where is this coming from?" Dad said."Yea that's what I wanna know."Ma said stepping out on the balcony with us."Daddy and Daughter Conversation, So your own business should be minded instead of minding our business."I said rolling my eyes and looking back at dad."I will pop you in ya mouth Aaliyah I'm not one of your friends."she said."Yea you right, my friends never decline me when I try to spend time with them." I said."So that's your problem?" She said."You da** right,upset at the fact you didn't invite your other daughters and son to Miami-" I said."You went to Miami?!"Dad asked."Yes she did but that's not the main concern right now,the main concern is she can't take time out for her kids.The kids she left for a number of years."I said."Its not my fault that I left yal did you forget?"she said."Ok I know that but its like you're not trying to make up for the time missed.I've been wanting to spend time with you for quite a while and you decline it Every Time.Do you feel as if since were adults we're no longer your child.How am I supposed to feel When I want to be with my mother all the time but I can't. I missed years without you.I had to go through things you was suppose to be there for, by myself.I had to grow up quick at a young age just to fill your shoes.I didn't have a normal childhood,I've became the mother of your kids. I spent nights crying every mothers day because everyone had their mother and I didn't,but now that I have my mother I still feel like you're not here. And I'm not the only one who feels this way.Ansley feels the same way,you can decline me every time but don't do that to my little sister she deserves a good bit of your time,she doesn't have no memories she can remember of you because she was too young to remember.Shi* not cool at all."I said as holding in my tears.After getting that all off my chest I just broke down crying.She began to cry also.She tried to come towards me."Don't touch me!"I said still boo hoo crying.I then buried my head in the crook of my dad's neck as he held me and rubbed my back."Just give her a little time."my dad said softly.Ma then walked off crying."stop crying baby girl."dad said kissing my forehead."Its best that you let that out and your not wrong to feel that way baby girl. Your mom loves you and your siblings a lot.But Anjoley is not experienced like yal are.And this is a sudden change for her and she told her that she felt as if she was losing her to yal."dad said."But now we're losing her.I want to be able to go on trips with my mom,go to the salon to get my hair done,get my nails,just spend time together.Thats all I ask for."I said wiping my tears."I don't know what to say baby,you have to speak to her yourself baby girl." Dad said.He then kissed my cheek and said"it's nothing wrong to feel that way,were all hurting in some way and we gotta let it out." I then got out of his lap to talk to ma.She was in the room crying."I'm sorry Lenny for making you feel that way,I've been trying to make sure Anjoley is ok since this is a drastic change for her,not giving thought if yal was ok.And Honestly its just hard looking at yal knowing I missed watching yal grow up and it really saddens me missing out on the important things in yal life,but I'm really sorry Lenny You all have my full attention now."ma said wiping her tears.I then came to her and hugged her and she held me.That was so fu**ing emotional for me when she held me because its something I've been missing all my life.I would have never thought I could do this again but now I am.I felt like a kid again when she held me."I love you Lenny."Ma said."Love you too ma."I said as she kissed my cheek."I believe dad has home videos of us growing up." I said."I would love to see them."Ma said.
The family came and for the rest of that day we watched home videos starting from my birth to when ma came back.This was the best feeling ever the family was finally complete we was just missing our Goddad and godma.
