Aria's POV:

I heard a knock on my door. I laid motionless on my bed. How long have I been in this position? The knocking continued and I turned up the volume. The only thing I heard now was my music blasting in my ears. I closed my eyes shut. I felt my bed shift and I opened my eyes. Kenneth sat at the side of my bed. I sat up and removed my earplugs.

"You okay?" He asked. "Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?" I lied. "Luke called. He didnt know you left, and he said you weren't answering his calls." He explained. I started to play with my fingers. "Oh. Well, I turned it off and just decided to listen to music on my iPod." I said. Kenneth nodded. "Aria, Melissa and I are here if you want to talk to anyone about any problems you have." Kenneth said. "I know." My voice cracked.

"You've been up here for almost 2 hours. You should go eat. I'm going to work now." Kenneth looked at me with a smile. I nodded and walked downstairs with him. "Hey Aria, I bought you some food." Melissa said when I walked into the kitchen. I smiled at her and said, "Thanks." I sat down with her and started to eat.

I watched Melissa make sure Kenneth was ready for work. I thought about how cute their relationship was and wished I had something like that when I was older. Kenneth pecked Melissa on the lips and walked out.

Melissa sat back down next to me. "So did you have a good day?" She beamed. I could tell she was having a good day herself. "It was good at first." I answered. "Then what happened?" She asked with an eyebrow raised. I stayed silent. "Is this about Luke?" She asked. I nodded my head.

"I was gonna tell him how I felt but then I chickened out and I missed my chance cause Jackie came and they were getting comfortable. I didn't like it so I left with Maria. I should've stayed and waited for Jackie to leave, then tell him." I rambled on. I didn't realize that tears were streaming down my face until after I finished.

"Come here." She said and held me in her arms. Melissa always comforted me. She understood me like she was a teen herself, but she took care of me like my mother would. "Everything's gonna be alright. You haven't missed your chance. You can get another chance again during the party tomorrow." Melissa said soothingly. She looked at me and dried my tears.

"Oh by the way, your friends Kiyah and Renna have been calling. They were wondering if you wanna go watch a movie with them." Melissa said with a smile. "I think I'll pass." I said. "Aw, why don't you go! Have fun with your friends! Do something to get your mind off of Luke for a while." Melissa said encouragingly. "I don't know." I said.

"Okay then, I'm ordering you to go out and have fun. You live in my house so you have to do whatever I tell you to do." She said with a straight face. I laughed and finally said, "Alright alright I'll go." Melissa smiled and I got up and started to walk to the stairs.

"Oh and Mel," I started. "Yeah?" Melissa asked. "Thanks." I said and hugged her. "No problem." Melissa said. Then I rushed to my room.

I turned on my phone and dialed Kiyah's number. "Hey. We've been trying to call you." She said. "Sorry I turned my phone off." I replied. "Wait let me get Renna in this conversation." Kiyah said.

"Hey Kiyah." Renna said. "Hey, Aria is here too." Kiyah said. "ARIA WHERE THE HECK HAVE YOU BEEN!?" Renna shouted. I laughed and said, "Sorry I'll explain everything later. Can we still go to the movies?" I asked. "Of course!" Kiyah said. "Wait, can we get stop by at the store first? I wanna get a new outfit for the party tomorrow." Renna said. "Sure." I replied.

"I'm gonna go get ready guys. See you there." I said. "Bye!" Kiyah said. "See you!" Renna said. Then I hung up.

I took a quick shower and dried my hair. I put on my black skinny jeans, the batman shirt Luke gave me, and grabbed my blue varsity jacket, just in case it got any colder. I slipped on my black vans and shoved my keys in my pocket.

"Mel, I'm leaving now!" I shouted. "Have fun! Don't forget to lock the door!" She shouted back. I walked out and plugged in my earplugs as I started to walked to the mall.
