"If you hear the dogs, keep going. If you see the torches in the woods, keep going. If there's shouting after you, keep going. Don't ever stop. If you want a taste of freedom, keep going." — Harriet Tubman

Octavia

"Marco?" Demi gasps, and I snap open my eyes as she gets off of me and rushes to the boy. I sat up, and press my hand against my ringing ear then I look to them. The boy starts crying and screaming as Demi holds him in her arms.

"It hurts Mommy!" The boy cries out, and I couldn't breathe. I can't breathe, my lungs squeezed as I look at the blood starting to stain his chest and hands, the boy looked exactly like Wilmer. His face was puffy and red, tears streaming uncontrollably down his cheeks. His hands cling onto Demi's shirt as he holds onto her, pain and fear was all I could see on the boy's face.

I shot the boy.

I shot Demi's son.

She has a fucking son.

There was so much blood, blood was stained on his light blue shirt and he cries as he clutches onto Demi, his brown eyes filed with tears. "I know baby, I know. Hold on, mommy will take the pain away." Demi shushes him, and I could see tears welling up in her eyes as she leans forward and kisses the boy's head.

The boy is only four years old.

Four years old.

Gasping, I quickly grab the gun and went on my feet. "Demi, I can help, I know medical—" I started to say but she shouts at me, her eyes piercing into mine. Anger and pain was all I could see in her dark eyes.

"Shut up Octavia! You shot my son!" She screams at me, a vein popping up in her neck before she turn back to her baby boy. Demi's arms tighten around him as she holds onto her boy tightly, and I watch as Demi's men came running into the library, guns in hands as they look around to see what the hell just happen.

"Fucking hell, I didn't even know he was there! I didn't know you had a kid!" I say, and back away as the boy's cries started to quieten. I started to shake, and my breathing starts to quicken with every panicking second, I'm gonna die oh man I'm gonna die.

"Baby, keep your eyes open for Mommy, okay? Stay awake honey, I know it hurts, I'm gonna get you help, okay?" Demi says, and stands up, cradling her son into her arms. The boy cries loudly, and then as my heart kind of stop, the boy stop crying too.

He stops crying.

"Baby?" Demi whispers, her voice cracks, and along with it, my heart.

I shot a little boy. A child. An innocent child.

Demi shakes him, but the boy was limp in her arms, not moving at all. "Sweetheart, hey, open your eyes for Mommy. Open your eyes, baby boy." Demi says and I back away, my hand clenching around the gun. Shoving the gun into the back of my jeans, I knew what I had to do and I had to do it now.

I had to leave before Demi kills me.

The shelf opens again and Wilmer pops his head out, he smiles at me. "We're ready to go—"

"OCTAVIA!" Demi screams so fucking loud.

"Move!" I screamed at him, shoving him out of the way and crawling inside. I went inside quickly and I was out of the mansion, I bolted to the woods.
