Here, here I stand
I am alone in front of you
Naked and trembling
There is everywhere I would rather be
Than here bereft of all distraction
But I see no escape
I want none
The doors are locked
And the only path offered to me
Is the path ahead
Straight, narrow - leading the way from the light
Leading only to the darkness
So I name you
So I see you
Darkness
I will not run
- Even though I am afraid
I will not stop
- Even though I am terrified
I walk toward you
Begin acceptance
Accept my fear
There is no other way
My heart will not beat without you
My sanity will vanish but for you
So I stand
Naked and trembling
Ready to begin
Ready to be alone
