"Can I PLEASE go to the gathering, Fogstar?" Cloudpaw persisted "I can walk now! Look!"

"I know you can walk but I don't think you're fit to walk all that way." Fogstar meowed back. A smile flashed on his face "I saw Twigpaw fetch you some fresh-kill the other day. If you can't walk that far you'll never be fit to go to a gathering."

"I was being lazy, okay." Cloudpaw meowed with his tongue sticking out

"We can practice battle moves!" Twigpaw meowed as Fogstar walked to his deputy "I'm not going either. I couldn't go without you and leave you here."

"Thanks!" Cloudpaw meowed, the smile making it back onto his face "Let's go to the battle area. Rabbitpaw isn't there." Twigpaw nodded in agreement and the two apprentices went to go teach each other.

"Here," Cloudpaw meowed lovingly "tuck your tail underneath your body. Then no cat can step on it."

"Well, you can work on your battle crouch too." Twigpaw meowed back "Bend your back legs some more for more power when you jump."

"Awesome!" Cloudpaw meows after pounces farther and higher that ever "You think we can catch up with Rabbitpaw?

"I doubt it." Twigpaw meows "She is a moon ahead of both of us now. But that's okay."

"Maybe Fogstar will wait and make us all warriors at the same time!" Cloudpaw meows while pouncing on a pile of leaves

"At least we'll have our warrior ceremonies will be together. I was worried I'd sit vigil all by myself." Twigpaw meows with a smile

"I would sit with you even if I was made warrior first." Cloudpaw laughs. Twigpaw jumps onto Cloudpaw and the two apprentices fight until they can barely still see each other.
