The next morning
Regina
I wake up to the sun shining brightly through the glass window. Slowly, I turn my head towards my bedside table to read the time on my digital clock, 10:30am. Have I really overslept?
I realize Robin isn't by my side so I assume he's taken the kids down for breakfast while I slept. My whole body still feels numb but the pain in my leg and hip still make themselves known painfully well.
A silent and gentle knocking on the door grabs my attention, making me turn my head towards it. Robin stands there, smiling at me.
"Hey" I whisper, my voice still croaky from sleeping
"Hey, how are you feeling?" he smiles, sitting beside me
"In pain still, but better than yesterday" I sigh
"Good, do you want something to eat?" he offers
"Toast please" I nod
"Yes milady" he smiles, bowing his head in a jokey manner and making me giggle
"That's the first time I've heard you laugh for a while" he smiles
"Oh go on with you" I laugh, kissing his lips
"Alright, alright" he smiles, walking out the door
My peace is interrupted again by Snow coming into the room, smiling weakly at me.
"Hey" I smile
"Hey, you okay?" she asks
"It's painful but I'll be fine" I shrug
"I think I'm going to have to increase your pain even more, I need to clean your hip and leg" she sighs
I let out a deep sigh and lie back fully, so I'm looking up at the ceiling
"Sorry" she whispers
"Just do it, get it over with!" I snap
"Regina? What's going on?" Robin asks, heading back into the room
"Ah Robin, just the person we need, sit beside Regina will you? While I clean her hip and leg" Snow says, motioning for him to sit beside me
"Okay" he nods, sitting beside me and grabbing my hand
I bite my lip to stop the tears of fear from falling down my face. Robin rubs my head with his free hand in a soothing manner.
"You're going to be fine babe, I promise" he reassures me
I nod simply, not believing him...
