6 hours later
Regina
I wake up to find it's dark outside, my whole body aching painfully and making it impossible to sit up. I squint at the bright lights until my eyes adjust. I'm alone in my room and the clock reads 8:30pm. I've been asleep for 6 hours.
A gentle knocking on the door makes me snap to attention and turn my head to the closed door.
"Come in" I say croakily
The door opens and Snow enters, smiling weakly at me.
"Hey" I smile
"Hey, how are you feeling?" she asks
"Sore, really sore" I moan
"Have you had painkillers?" She asks
"Not for six hours" I sigh
"I'll go and get you some water and you can take some more" she decides, going into the bathroom and coming out with a glass
I click my fingers and the cup is filled straight away
"I take it you got your magic back?" she laughs
"Yes" I laugh back as she hands me the glass and the tablets
"So, have you and Robin sorted things out?" she asks
"Yes, we're okay. I don't want to be made at him for the rest of my life and I don't want my children growing up not knowing their father" I nod
"That's good, I'm glad" she smiles
"I'm sorry I snapped at you Snow, I didn't mean it, I was just upset" I apologize
"It's okay, Regina, I get it. I just wanted you and Robin to be happy and for Sophia and Grace to know their father, I know what it's like not to have a father to grow up with and I don't want that to happen to them" she smiles
I nod, smiling weakly
"Robin should be along soon I think I saw him walking along the corridor before I came in" she adds
"Thank you" I smile
There another knocking on the door, interrupting the conversation. We both turn our heads to find Robin walking into the room, our sleeping daughter in his arms.
"Hey" he whispers, smiling at us
"Hey" Snow and I both whisper in unison
"I'll leave you guys, night" Snow decides, patting Robin's shoulder gently
"Night Snow" Robin and I whisper as she leaves the room
"How are you feeling babe?" Robin asks, kissing my lips
"Sore, how's Grace?" I ask
"She's fine, a little fussy but once she was fed she was okay" he explains
I nod silently, smiling at him as he lowers our daughter into the crib
"I'm going to get ready for bed" he smiles
I click my fingers and he's in his pyjamas, his teeth clean and hair washed.
"I see you have your magic back?" he giggles as he climbs in beside me
"Yes" I smile
There's a hint of sadness in his eyes, as though he's hiding something from me.
"Babe, are you okay?" I ask
"Yeah, why?" he frowns
"You look sad, has something happened?" I whisper
"No, I'm fine" he lies
"Robin, I know you're lying!" I argue
And then it hits me, his daughter. Something happened when he went to find her!
"Robin, did something happened when you went to find your daughter?" I ask
He nods, tears streaming down his face
"She didn't even know who I was; she wanted to stay with Rumpelstiltskin and Belle! It kills me Regina, to know that she'll never know me" he blurts
"Robin, she does know you! She's met you, she may not know you're her father but that doesn't mean she doesn't know you! One day she'll understand and she'll find you, I promise Robin" I reassure him
"I love you, Robin" I add
"I love you too" he whispers back
He shrinks down into the pillows, wrapping his arm around me carefully as we both fall into sleep...
