Chapter 19; Willing to risk it?

Jared sat staring at Sówïe with a wondering look on his face. His eyes trailed of looking around the room as if he was almost searching for something, then he reached Sówïe eyes again and stopped.

'I never thought about that.' He said with an almost disappointed voice. Sówïe just looked at him, not saying a word.

'But what if we do try it and...it's like it was always meant to be?! I'm willing to risk that! What if you had to choose between losing me now or you know...we try this and sees where it takes us?! What would you pick?' He said now wanting her to make a decision.

'Well that's the stupidest ultimatum I've ever heard! You have to know the answer already! But what if I ask the ultimatum? You have to choose between having me as a friend your whole life or lose me along the way?' She said trying to make him understand where she is coming from with this.

'What you are saying is that you don't believe we would never work?! What am I supposed to feel about that? If you don't trust me, I'm not sure...omg...I'm not sure I want you as a friend!' He said frustrated and he got tears in his eyes. Sówïe did not see that turn coming. She lost all of her feelings, making her feel numb she didn't think clearly.

'Fine! Then you've made your decision, so leave my room...right now!' She spat out while starring at a spot on the floor.

'Sówïe!' He started but she cut him off.

'Leave!' she said coldly.

He rose slowly with a lump in his throat and like a stone in his chest feeling, and then he left. He slammed the door shut behind him so hard the whole hospital probably heard it. That sound made the first tear fall from Sówïe's eyes and after that one, more and more fell. About 2 minutes later Shannon barged into her room.

'What the Hell, Sówïe? What did you do?' he said while walking towards her bed. She had her back towards him, she was trying to stop crying. Then Shannon heard a small sob, and then he slowly walked around her bed to the other side, where she had her face. But then she pulled her cover over her head.

'Ohh girl! What the fuck did he do?' He said disappointed of his brother. He sat down on the side of her bed and put his hand on her arm but with the cover between them.

'I blew it!' Sówïe said from underneath the cover.

'What happened?' Shan asked softly, still having his hand on her arm.

'I told him I was afraid for what will happen if it wouldn't work out for us. Then he asked a ultimatum, wanting me to pick between losing him now or try it and see where it takes us! An obvious choice to me! But then I asked an ultimatum, for him to pick between having me as a friend his whole life or lose me along the way! And then he picked something entirely different, he said he didn't want me as a friend at all...so I said goodbye! And he left.' Sówïe told Shannon, still with the cover over her head. Shan covered his eyes with one hand and then he rubbed them.

'OMG! You two are the stupidest fucking people I know! And you girl...I love you to death but you are way too stubborn! You know you love him and whatever happens along the way...you have to know that we will all be in your life one way or another.' Shannon said softly but frustrated.

'If that's true...then why the hell can't he tell me that?' Sówïe answered and pulled down the cover from over her head. Shan turned and looked at her, she looked back at him with red eyes. Shannon then laid down beside her and put his arms around her to comfort her.

2 minutes later Tomo entered the room.

'Dude, what's with Jared?' He said and then her spotted Sówïe and Shannon on the bed, he stopped and looked at them, then he walked over to the bed.
