Just a Dream

Chapter 4: The Hob and Dinner

Haymitch comes and picks me up and head to the hob.

We go to different stores and get certain things we both need. Probably every single store we went into he made me laugh. Which was nice because I needed to laugh.

We go to all the stores and it is about 4:30 when we finish. We have an hour till Effie comes. We are about to walk out when we realize a new bakery.

Haymitch ask,"Should we get some dessert for tonight?"

"Sure," I reply to him," It must be good because there are a lot of people in the bakery."

We walk in and it smells really good inside. We both decide that we are going to get a chocolate cake. We get up to the counter and a lady is standing their waiting to take our order.

"What may I get for you guys today?" She ask us.

Something about her is familiar. The way she looks and talks. Then it hits me it is the girl who kissed Peeta. This must be his bakery. I start to get shaky as I'm thinking of what happened earlier.

I whisper to Haymitch that I am going to wait outside. He shakes head and I walk out of the bakery.

Haymitch comes out and we walk back to our houses. We don't say a word to each other on the way back. I'm about to walk into my house when Haymich tells me something.

"Come over at 6, ok." He says

I reply with an ok and walk into my house. I unpack and it is only 5:25. I just sit and watch tv until 6.

A few minutes later:

It is now 6 and I walk over to Haymitch's house. I knock on the door and hear someone say it's open. I enter and take off my shoes. I walk into the kitchen.

Effie walks up to me and gives me a big hug. She lets go and says,"It's been to long since I have seen you." Even though it has only been 3 months since I have seen her. But it does feel like forever.

We sit down to eat dinner an dessert. That whole time we talked and laughed. Not once did I think or talk about Peeta.

After we were done Haymich and Effie go clean up the kitchen. So I decided to go sit on the couch. I remember that the couch I am sitting on is the one I told Haymich that we needed to save Peeta's life. Flashbacks start going through my mind of the two of us. I start to get a little sad thinking of us. Effie then comes over and sits next to me on the couch.

"I feel horrible about what happened today. You must be heartbroken," she says. Haymich must of told her what happened.

"Yes, I'm very heartbroken," I say starting to cry," When I got back I realized that I really did love him, but I guess I'm to late."

Effie opens her arms to hug me. I accept her hug and start to cry on her shoulder. Haymich walks over and on the other side of me putting me in the middle. He puts his hand on my back and starts rubbing my back slowly.

I sit up and wipe my tears away. I tell them,"Lets talk about good times we have had together."

"Sure," they both say at the same time.

We talk about different things together. We laughed so hard one time we all cried. Then I realized it was 10:30.

I stud up and said,"I better get going it is getting late and I have had a rough day."

"Ok," Haymich says getting up and giving me a hug,"Goodnight sweetheart."

I go over to Effie and give her a hug she whispers,"Goodnight, I love you."

"I love you also. Thanks again for tonight." I say.

"Your welcome," Haymich says.

With that I'm out the door. I get into my house and go upstairs to get ready for bed. I just laid there trying to fall asleep, but I couldn't. I kept thinking of moments with Peeta. I start to cry a little and with that I fall asleep thinking.

He doesn't love me anymore.
