Chapter 12~ This was a waste of time...

This was a waste of time..

Jake's P.O.V

Today had been a hectic day. I just wanted to get home and just relax. Plus Alex was having a party tomorrow so I need a lot of energy if I was going to attend. To my surprise I saw Alex outside with some guy as I was walking out of school. I was about to go to her and ask her to introduce him to me but just then something happened. He stepped towards her. Like really close,almost like invading her personal space. And me being the good friend that I am, I was about to go beat the hell out of him. But when Alex didn't move I started thinking other wise. Who was this guy? He didn't turn his head or anything, he was just starring at her.

He took his second step and that's when I could see his face clearly. He was the guy that girls had been going all crazy about for the past week. But what I couldn't figure out was what Alex was doing with him? She has never been interested in dating and all so what's really going on? I mean he could've kissed her if he wanted to. I then decided to hide behind a nearby tree just to spy a little more. I would've gone to my car but the sound of me opening the door would have disturbed their moment. And I wouldn't have seen their movements clearly.

I guess Alex said something that ruined everything thing because the guy stepped back. He smiled and turned to walk about away but she said something again which made him stop. She then said the only words that I heard ever since I started my little spy thing. She said he wouldn't regret it. Question was what was it? I guess they said their goodbyes because that's when he disappeared.
So now it was time for me to interrogate.

"Who's he?" I asked as if I didn't know.

Alex jumped to the sound of my voice. "Oh Jake Hi." She smiled like it was her it would be her last smile. "He's nobody really, just a friend."

"I've never met him though?" I smiled too,just to look like I didn't see anything that just happened.

"How long have you been standing there?" That was the question that a guilty person would ask. But again I was just going to pretend like nothing had happened.

"I just came,when he decided to leave."

"Oh, you're coming tomorrow right?" Why was she trying to change the subject? And was I going to going to act like everything was okay when really,I was just so damn suspicious right now? I had to. The only way I could get to the truth without her suspecting a thing. "Yeah I am. You need any help setting up?" Act natural Jake. Just do that.

"No, Nancy already said she will,so I'm fine. Thanks though."

I just nodded and said goodbye to her. To be honest I was supper tired to continue with the conversation anyway.

Alex's P.O.V

Today was Saturday. The day of my party. My first very own party! My parents were coming back tomorrow evening but I could really care less right now. I was having a party today, one that I actually need to start preparing for. Nancy had agreed to come in the morning and help my sister and I around in preparation for tonight. And I actually did something I don't do so often,I went to buy an outfit. Weird right?

Well Nancy kept her promise and she came early in the morning. We were all done by mid afternoon so it was now time to freshen up. I had agreed on buying an outfit but there was no way I was ever going to wear a dress. So I had bought black ripped skinny jeans, a pair of some grey roshe runs that had turquoise details . I was going to wear a black tank top and a white cap too. Tonight was going to be perfect, it had to be.
