I felt something slimy and cold on my face. I turned opening my sleepy eyes to my dog Tucker, a German Sheppard. I groaned and rolled back over on my side but Tuck kept nuzzling my side. I laughed and got up. He is the most spoiled German Sheppard I have ever met. Slowly making my way downstairs I finally made it to the kitchen door and let him out. I laughed when he licked my leg first then went out. I walked over to my coffee maker and began my day as usual. Tuck wakes me up, I let him out, make some coffee and toast, let him back in feed him, then off to get ready for the day. My life's pretty boring for a college kid. I only have three friends and that's my two best friends who are twins Kimberly and Massie. Then my best friend Kip who I meet my freshman year of college. I work at a library in town. I go to NYU for journalism so I'm not a party going, drinking, and doing drugs like everyone else.

After getting a quick shower and dressing I walked down the stairs to my door. Petting Tucker's head I smile and walk out the door into the cold New York wind. It's November here in this busy city and a slight snowfall happened as I was sleeping last night. It's a beautiful sight but as usual you can't really enjoy it with the hustle of the streets. I make my way down across the avenue and take a left. Three blocks later I stand in front of NYU. As a little girl it has always been a dream of mine to go here and now here I am halfway through my junior year of college. I make my way through the small park outside till I spot my friends sitting beside our favorite tree. Kip sees me first and waves then the twins. Kimberly and Massie are the most beautiful set of twins you could ever see and have always been. The thing is they don't even have to try. Both have black silky hair, dark brown eyes and bodies of Greek goddesses. They won't admit to it but they are very beautiful and extremely smart. Kimberly is majoring in bio physics and Massie is majoring in Biology. Then there is Kip. He is a tall handsome fellow with short blonde hair and amazing green eyes. He is different he loves to perform and dance. He is the life of the party but very sweet and sincere. He is majoring in theater.

"Hey guys!" I say as I walk up to them. Kim and Mas say hey in union and go back to studying. "So my little snow angel what are you doing this evening?" Kip asks putting his arm over my shoulder. I shrug not really knowing. "You should come to this awesome party the theater crew is throwing," he says. "Um no thanks besides I have to work tonight late and study for a big exam next week," I answer not really interested in a party. "You always study and work every night it's time for to break out of your shell before college ends for you," kip argues. He always thinks I need to go to parties and big events be a social butterfly like him but id rather not. "No thanks kip put I really need to study and work hard if I want that internship," I answer. At the end of your first junior semester you're given the chance by the New York Times to prove yourself worthy of an internship with them. You have to have a 3.8 GPA, sparkling recommendation letter from a professor or journalist, 4 page hard hitting article they will examine, and a kick butt interview. I plan on getting that internship. Kip laughed then the clock stroke 8 and we all stared towards our classes. Just like any other day.

Finally I was done! Putting all the returned books back on the shelves! I have been at this since 2. After school I always come straight here to the city library and start my job. Now being a librarian is not fun or exciting but I love books so it keeps me occupied. Once I put the cart away I looked at the clock and saw it was nearly 9. Wow time really does fly by. I quickly dusted off my desk and started gathering my things. Stepping out of the warmth of the library I was greeted with the chill of late fall early winter. I pulled my jacket closer to me and locked the doors. Taking a deep breathe I descended the stairs and walked down the street. As always it's dark and creepy. Me being the foolish girl to watch horror movie still I'm scared to turn my back every noise makes me uneasy. I decided to take the alley way faster to my street.

Walking a little faster I came around the corner to only stop dead into tracks at the scene in front of me. Three men were beating the crap out of some poor young guy right in the middle of the street. I gasped and hid behind the nearest trash can praying they don't find me. After a few minutes I heard the cries for help stop and the men's footsteps begin to walk in my direction. I put my hand over my mouth to the stop the silent sobs coming from my throat until I heard nothing. I stood very slowly hoping they were gone. Thankfully no one was in the alley not even the man they were beating up. I sprinted down the alley only to come around the corner and plow into someone. I fell onto the ground and looking up I saw a very handsome man but something about him made me feel unsure about him. "We'll look here lads we have a little mouse running around in the alley way," he said watching as I stood quickly. "Hey boss you don't think she saw anything do you?" A chunky man behind him asked. "Even if she did her best bet would be to keep quiet now wouldn't it sweetheart?" The man asked lifting his hand to my cheek.
