Chapter 4: Threats in the Library

 Iturned around looking but it was dark. That's strange why is it dark. Mrs.Nan usually is still here by the time I arrive. I checked my clock it was only 2:10. I started getting worried so I Quickly made my way over to the light switch. When i turned it on I gasped when I saw Evan and one of his goons standing behind him.

I hugged my purse close to my side hoping he wasnt going to kill me. Who am I kidding he is going to kill me! "Well now Mrs.Julie we need to have a chat," Evan said. The big man behond him walked over to me and pushed me down into the seat behind the desk. He put a firm hand on my shoulder keeping me in place. "Now you see I don't want to have to be the bad guy and hurt you or even kill you," HE said strolling back and forth in front of me. "You see I think you have made quit the impression on Russell and Jack, especially Jack.And that little mouse is a good thing for me. I need you to convince them to join me or not fight. Or else you will watch them die and then I will kill you." Evan said looking at me . "I don't think I could convince them to stop doing something like as you know I just meet them last night," I said not looking at either of them. "Oh you will trust me you will my little mouse," He said. "No I won't be apart of this," I mumbled a little. "What did you say!" He yelled. I flinched and turned my head but Evan came around and gabbed me by my chin. "You will do as I say missy or else!"

As soon as he said those words the doors to the exit came busting open revealing a panting Jack and Russell right behind him. They came charging at Evan and his goon i scrambled under the desk. I heard fighting and soon enough it ceased, doors slammed, and JAck came around the desk frantically. He tugged me out from under the desk and pulled me into a bone crushing hug. Russell came around and did the same. " We knew something was wrong when the lights were off then we saw one of Evan's cars go by," Russell said standing. "I was so worried we were to late," Jack said checking my face for bruises. "I'm fine scared but fine how did he find out I work here?" I asked standing up. "Probably got someone to look you up," Russell said. "Okay well I guess I better clean this mess up, help me out?" I asked with my puppy dog pout. "Of course we will help you," Jack said. I smiled and sent them to putting chairs back and turning tables back to the right side. I put up books and papers not really caring that I wasn't putting them back right. After ten minutes we finished cleaning and I made a note saying "The Library is CLOSED TODAY due to plumbing problems". Hopefully no one important comes and sees it cause then I might be out of a job. Jack came and look he laughed and took the note and tape from me. Strolling away to the front doors.

I looked around making sure I had everything and didnt miss anything. Satisfied with the clean up I look around for Jack he was still putting the sign up, but where is Rus? I whipped around looking for him but nothing. "Rus? Russell! Where are you? We need to get going before someone walks up!" I yelled looking around the desk and tablesfor him. I began to panick after noticing he wasn't answering or moving around me. "Rus this is not funny come on let's go!" I yelled. I turned the corner of the nearest bookshelve quickly and quietly. I noticed a light coming from the end. I crept up to it and found Rus texting on his phone. I huffed and crossed my arms. Annoyed hat he ignored me yelling ofr him and now not even noicing I was standing here.  I hrew my hand back and smacked him as hard as I could on he arm. "Ow! What was that for? He yelled. "For not answering me when I was calling for you and playing on your phone instead," I hissed. He shrugged and shoved past me. I huffed again and picked my bag up from the floor. i made my way back to the front doors. Jack handed me the keys and my jacket. I quickly put my jacket on and pushed the boys out the door. I closed the door and locked it. making sure the sign was were peoplecould see it I walked down the stairs behind the boys. Russell opened the door to the rover for me and let me in. He slammed the door once I was in. Dang did I really piss him off that bad? I looked over at Jack who was getting in. He didn't seem pissed just worried. I smiled at he thought that Jack really cared and was worried I had gotten hurt. Russell got in and buckled up. He jerked the car forward and started up the street to my house. I watched them from the corner of my eye in total silence. Uncomfortable silence.
