Chapter 10: Betrayal

It's been such a whirlwind these past few weeks. Between school which is out now for he holidays, work shorter hours because of school being out, dates with Jack, and Christmas coming up I have no idea where the time has gone. I was cleaning the kitchen when my phone began to ring. I jumped up and ran over checking to see who it was. Danielle! "Sis what's up? I miss you so much!" I pathetically yelled into the phone. "Hey little sister! I miss you to! How is everything in the big city?" Danielle asked. "Oh fine just you know I have a BOYFRIEND NOW!" I giggled. "Oh wow Julie that's great oh and perfect timing because guess what," Danielle said. "Danielle you know I hate guessing just tell me!" I begged. "Okay okay me, Felix, and Cailley AR coming to New York to see you this Christmas!' She squealed. I quelled and jumped up and down. "Really Oh my gosh this is going to be awesome! When will you guys get here?" I asked. "Felix and I will be there December the 20th-Jan 10th. Cailley will be here December the 18th-Jan.3rd." Danielle explained. "Oh and I have some news to announce when we get there!' Danielle said. "Oh okay so are yall going to stay in a Hotel or what?" I asked. "Felix and I will be staying at the Plaza Hotel and Cailley can either stay with us or with you," She said. "She can stay with me and really the Plaza?" I asked amazed. "Yes we have been planning and saving since last Christmas so we have more than enough to make this one a good vacation," Danielle said. "Okay well I can't wait to see but I have to go love you!"  said. "Alright see you at Christmas love you to!" Danielle said before I hung up. Suddenly my phone began to buzz again and I checked it.

Russell: You need to get down here as fast as you can. Jack is badly injured. the address is 79th avenue in the Bronx. Come quick.

I dropped my phone and an upstairs and changed into some jeans then flew down the stairs grabbed my phone, keys, and purse. I locked the house in a hurry and ran down the stairs flagging down a taxi. My heart was thumping laud as I told the man where to go and he sped off. Oh god I hope Jack's okay.

Soon the taxi pulled onto a curb and I jumped out. I handed him some money and ran down the block. I reached a dark alleyway and heard some noise coming from the other end. I quickly started walking down being careful not to make to much noise. I came around a corner and saw a ramp to some building and a huge man standing outside of it. I gulped and held my purse close to me. I walked up the ramp and stood in front of the man. "Can I help you Miss?" The big man asked. He was black with huge arms and muscles bulging from everywhere. I gulped and got some courage in me. "Is this the street fighting gym?" I mumbled. "What if it is? Whose asking?" He said cocking his head to the side. "I am a consultant to one of Evan's fighters and I was text to come here immediately to see him," I lied. Please believe me. "One of Evan's consultants, didn't know he had female consultants," He said. "Well he does but I'm like the last on his list to be called I also do other things for him we have a deal worked out," I said. "Alright the lockers are down the hall and to the right but be careful some people might try and snatch you up," He said opening the door for me. "Thanks for the heads up," I said quickly walking through and starting down the hall. Hopefully someone not scary will come up and I can ask them where Jack is.

Answering my prayers an older man, fit, and handsome come out of the restroom and I sped up to reach him. "Excuse me sir? But um can you help me find a guy named Jack Ryder?" I asked. he turned around at me and said, 'Yeah and who are you?" "Um I'm Julie one of his consultants," I lied. "I know Jack and he has no consultants except me his trainer," He said. "Um well..suddenly a door came open revealing one of Evan's goons. The man hid me behind his back and lead me down the hall and through a door into a lockeroom. "Stay here okay, Jack is showering and he will be right back," The man said.

I nodded and waited suddenly the door burst ed open to a wet haired Jack. He looked at me surprised and shocked. "Julie what are you doing here it's not safe!' Jack said running over to me. "I know but I got this text saying you were badly injured and you needed me," I said. Jack took my phone and looked he whirled around t the other man. "Tim have you seen Russell today?" Jack asked. Oh so this is his trainer and gym owner. "No and I don't think he has a match tonight so why would he be here?" Tim asked. "I don't know but when I see him he is going to get an ear full or a bloody nose," Jack said. I walked over and put my hand on his shoulder and he turned. He hugged my side and looked back over at Tim. "Tim this is Julie the one I was telling you about," He said. "Oh your the girl that has stolen Jack"s and Evan's heart," Tim said shaking my hand. I looked at Jack and he looked back at Tim. "Jack you know he wants this girl for himself otherwise he would have just killed her or left her alone," Tim said. "I know that's why I have to protect her and get her out of here," Jack said. "Alright you have no other fights we can sneak you two out the back way come go through the alleyway and I will meet you on the other side with the car," Tim said. Jack nodded and walked over to his bag. He grabbed two hoodies out and handed one to me. I pulled it over my head and laid the hood on my head.
