Chapter 2: Sleepover in a Gym

I woke up to two sturdy arms lifting me up and holding me close to a firm warm chest. I didn't open my eyes because I knew who it was and honestly I was too tired. I nuzzled my head close to Jack's chest and felt him chuckle. He stopped for a moment and I heard keys clinging together. Jack finally found the right one and unlocked the door. Wherever we were it was dark and cold so I opened my eyes.

Jack walked effortlessly through the darkness and stopped and gently lowered me down onto something soft but worn out. I let go of his neck and he chuckled and walked away. After a few seconds light came on and I cringed my eyes at the brightness. Once I got used to the brightness opened them to see a boxing ring in front of me and a few pieces of equipment all around. I stood and looked around. It was an old dusty gym that looked like it was being used because of the smell but not too much by the dust. I heard footsteps and swirling around I came in view of Jack holding a white t shirt and some sweatpants in his hand. "Here I thought you might want something to sleep in instead of what you have on," He said blushing a little. I smiled at the thought that maybe he wasn't the type to always be this nice and considerate of a female s this was all new to him. "Thank you that's very kind of you," I said taking the clothes from him and tucking them under my arm. He smiled and turned but quickly turned back with his finger in the air. " Oh I forgot the shower is that way and it maybe a bit cold but this is a gym so not much to work with, also there is some soap in there and a towel to use," He said pointing in the direction behind me.

I nodded and turned towards the showers and walked away. I came through the doors and turned on the light switch to the room. There were lockers on the left side and showers on the right. I laid the clothes down on the bench and began stripping. After folding my clothes neatly and putting them in my bag I walked over to the shower and turned n on. I yelped at the cold water hitting my skin and jumped back falling on the floor. I heard feet running then someone bursting through the door. "Julie are you okay!" Jack yelled from the other side. When he finally realized that I was on the floor and naked he quickly put his hand over his eyes. "Oh Julie I am so sorry I did not know you were naked!" He said frantically trying to back away. "I'm fine Jack it's okay I just fell you don't have to worry and jack just turn around and take your hand off your face please," I said standing up laughing then scrambling to the shower. He laughed and nodded taking my advice and walking to the door. I heard him chuckle and I laughed then began lathering my body in soap trying to get the dirt and sweat ff from today.

Once I was down I turned the shower off and wrapped myself the towel it was warm strangely but I hugged it around my body. After drying off I changed into the clothes Jack gave me and inhaled his familiar scent from the shirt. He was really intoxicating. I picked up my stuff and laid the towel out to dry and walked out. When I came out o found Russell sitting on the couch and Jack onto he table. I cleared my throat and they both looked up from their conversation. "Oh there she is come join us over here," Russell said patting the couch. I walked over and plopped down on the sofa. It was quiet for a few minutes so I decided to break the ice. "So where are we exactly?" I asked. "You are on the Bronx in our boxing gym we train at," Russell answered looking up from his phone. I nodded and looked over at Jack who was busy lost in his thoughts. "Um am I allowed to call anyone to let them know imp not dead or should I wait?" I asked looking at both of them. "Not tonight but I will let you call someone tomorrow," Russell answered. "Okay um so is anybody going tell me what I got myself into tonight or should I just drop it?" I asked. Russell chuckled and I arched my brow annoyed and confused all the same time. "What you saw tonight was a mob boss trying to get payback on my friend here and you almost being killed by the biggest mob boss in New York and then watching me get beat up," Jack answered. I was shocked I knew that scary guy looked familiar he is the biggest mob boss there is and owns most of the city including the college. I gulped at the thought of him finding me at the college OR seeing me with my friends when I heard someone clear their throat. I looked up to see both the boys with a concerned look on their faces so I rubbed the tears away and smiled. "We know it's scary but for now we will be watching your back till its safe and that's why we brought you here." Jack said looking at me then the ceiling. I nodded understanding that going home would have been a huge mistake. "So now what? We having a sleepover with a girl?" Russell said laughing as he looked at Jack. "Yeah sure we can get to know our little angel," Jack said. So that's exactly what we did stayed up ms of the night telling our stories and we even played 20 questions that I know Rus cheated at.

I awoke to the sun shining through the windows. I turned only to feel something warm and from under my arm. I glanced over and saw Jack sleeping like an angel beside me I smiled and turned back to my original position and looked and saw Rus sleeping on him mat across the gym from us. I thought about everything I learned about them last night. Jack and Rus became friends after being rivals in street fighting matches. Since hey had no one but their managers they became great pals and moved in together. Rus's manager and trainer were killed a few months later and Jack's manger, Tim, took Russell in. They help Tim with the gym during the and street fight at night. They lost their apartment and now hey live here in the gym upstairs. They know Evan because he has a few big superstar street fighters he pays to fight. They have never liked Evan but he is the boss so they don't mess with him much but he has always wanted Jack and rus to fight for them. That's the reason the were after Russell, he had just won a fight against one of his guys and the bodyguards were sent to scare him into joining Evan or to rough him up. I smiled at the thought that these boys saved me and had the guts to not fear Evan.

After a few minutes of thinking I felt Jack move so turned over and meet his dreamy green eyes wake up. He smiled a sleepy smile and laughed. "Hey angel how did you sleep?' He asked in his sleepy voice if I wasn't such a nice innocent girl I wear I would have pounced on him then and there. "I slept fine thank you," I whispered not wanting to wake Rus up. "Good when Rus gets up we will get dressed and take you to breakfast then to your house that okay," He whispered back. I nodded and I laid my head back on Jack's cheats mentally hoping Rus would sleep for a few more hours. Jack and I talked for a while then Rus began moving and he got up. Scratching the back go his head he got up and stretched/ He looked over at me and smiled. "Well good morning Princess and how are you?" He said smiling. "Very good actually thank you Rus for asking," He smiled and walked over and plopped down in front of me. I sat up and Jack followed. "So what are the plans for today?" Rus asked. "We get dressed, take her out to eat, and then take her home, let her do her thing," Jack said. Rus nodded and got up walking towards the stairs to their loft. They didn't let me sleep up there because it doesn't have a bed or sofa yet and it stays really cold up there.

I stood up and walked over to my bag and picked it up. I noticed Jack watching me the whole time I blushed and quickly made my way to the locker room. He chuckled and got up himself. After I changed and brushed my hair I came out to Russell and Jack already waiting by the door got me. Russell had on a grey sweater with a black leather jacket over it and some jeans and shoes. Jack had on a black shirt, dark jeans, and black leather jacket. When they saw me they smiled. Russell walked out first and Jack gently pushed me by the small of my back out the door into the cold wind. I hugged my jacket closer to me and Russell came over and tucked me into his side. He was warm but not like Jack. When Jack finished locking the door he turned around and frowned at Rus. Rus laughed and tugged me towards the Range Rover. Russell opened the door for me and I climbed in. He closed the door and Walked around with jack on his heels. Jack surprised me by opening the driver back seat door and climbing in. He smiled and put his seat belt on. I repeated his action as Russell got in the driver seat ad buckled up. He smiled at me through the mirror and turned. "So where shall we take this little lady out for breakfast?" He asked looking at Jack. "How about Mrs. Teal's out on the main drag?" Jack suggested. "Yeah Mrs. Teal has some good home cooking," Rus said excitedly. I laughed and nodded turning my head to look at all the new scenery
