"Hey, I want you to help me with a project and you can be a character  in it. How does that sounds". She says smiling.

"Of course." I say smiling back.

That's when it started, a friendship that will never end. We met in elementary school but we really became friend in middle school.
We were closer than close. I could  tell her anything  and everything but I had some problems. I have low self-esteem. I was the shy girl who would get bullied, I was too scared to make a friend because I was so use of  being alone so I thought what  if this friend leave me.. The funny part is my biggest  fear is being alone.

But for some strange reason I felt like I wasn't going to  be alone because I had her,...Onika
She had perfect teeth, nerdy glasses and an beautiful brown hair. She was always there for me when I needed  her.

On that summer, I didn't  see it coming. Really I didn't think  she would say yes.

"Ummm... I wanted to talk to you," I said nervously.  I couldn't bring myself to do it.

"Oh Ok about what. Is something wrong." She said concerned reaching out to  hug me.

"You don't have to hug me." I said gently pulling away

"Ok than what's the problem."

Me being me. I dragged it on because I didn't know how to  tell her. I was nervous that she would say no or say that she hate gay people. I took a deep breath and  said what's  been on my mind.

Umm... I like you... ", I said nervously.

She looked at me quickly before shifting her contact to another place in the room. I immediately regret telling her so because she was quiet for what seemed like forever. I looked away from her almost embarrassed. That was until she finally spoke up.

"Really... I  like you too,"She said with a nervously starting to crack a smile a little. She shifted nervously in the bed, her hands intertwined with each other repeatedly as she fidgeted with them. She watched the room, corner to corner, as if she was waiting for something to happen.

"Wait, you do. In what way." I asked getting' excited but still keeping my cool.

"Like like", she said, turning towards my direction smiling a little, making a little eye contact even though she was clearly nervous.

My heart twisted and sunk with nerves as I sat in front of her. The white light enveloped me, coldly, as I shook. My breaths came in sharp pants and I tried to gain control, but nothing was working. I tried to breath calmly, but every time I looked up in any direction. What scared me the most was the words.Words I had waited for with anxiety and worry, knowing, somehow, what they might say.

'You don't mind if we...kiss. Not saying we have to...but...I'll like to." I said while looking in her beautiful eyes.

Her eyes... Her eyes were always a brilliant hazel. When she was jovial they were warm, lively, and sparkled with mirth. When she was downcast they seemed to grow dim and dark. They twinkled with every blink she took.

"I mean I guess, Idk, I never really kissed nobody before."
Then all of  a sudden I felt the bed moves rapidly. She was shaking nervously.

"I'm sorry", she said. Looking at the  ceiling

"No it's ok  I'm nervous too." I said smiling a little to encourage her.

"This is going to be my first kiss, this shit is crazy yo." She said taking a deep breath trying to calm herself.

"Me too," I said smiling  nervously. I couldn’t stop my heart from pounding in my chest. What if I turn out to be a bad kisser? I don't wanna ruin it for her.

"Well, You should go...first." She said giving me a quick glance.

She's  so beautiful. That's all  I could think of  at the time and how nervous I was to kiss her

"No! You go first." I shot looking back at her nervously.

"No you. "She said look at me

With that I pushed my lips on hers. I felt as if time froze. It was magic, the way her lips connected with mine. It was right, and somehow, among all of the dizziness and the clinging to her like a lifeline, something inside me changed, never to be reversed. This new feeling could be dwelled upon later, because, for now, I was content to feel her breath come and go with mine. I didn't know what I was  feeling but I know I loved it. It felt so right.

At first it took me awhile to  realize that my lips were touching hers, even though it is right before my eyes, larger than life. Then I feel my lips stretch wider into gaping grin and my eyebrows arch for the sky. She's made it. She's here. And in the seconds that follow I can feel her squeezing her arms around me and my arms reciprocating. No longer is she pixelated and two dimensional; she is warm, fragranced and soft. She wasn't an great illusion she wasn't something I couldn't reach anymore she was tangible in my grips so that and beautiful clear picture.

I was kissing Onika. Onika was kissing me! I wish I could kiss her forever. That was my first  kiss and I will never forget it.
