So I was eating dinner with my mom, my dad, and my little sister, Ruby. We were eating overcooked noodles... again. Yeah, my mom isn't that experienced as a cook. So we were eating the noodles when I heard this sudden, rumbling noise coming from nowhere. Of course, no one else hears it. Many strange things happen in this house, and I so happen to be the only one noticing them. Anyway, I heard the rumbling noise and said, "Whoa! Did you guys hear that?" and this was their response: "Hear what?" I then grunted and went upstairs to my room to find out what that rumbling noise was. It turned out to be a gigantic monster truck right outside my bedroom window. It was probably big enough to eat our whole house, but who would leave a monster truck this big?
Suddenly a robotic voice almost shattered my eardrums. "Hello, Emerald." How does it know my name? Why did it say it? I had no idea what's happening, but then I realized that I have a giant monster truck outside my window. Why not take it for a little spin before, you know, actually showing it to the rest of my family. But as soon as I leaped from my window to the passenger seat of the monster truck, it just started on its own and darted in some random direction, at least I thought it went in some random direction at first, but in the end, I ended up in a forest. I don't know why it took me to a forest, but okay. At least the truck had a built-in camera so I can show some of these animal photos to my photography class at school... if I can get back to school that is.
So after the forest ride, we ended up in a desert. Nothing but sand and a couple of buildings and even some dry, sandy animals and statues were there too. Afterwards, we were in an arctic which didn't really make any sense to me. An arctic right next to a desert? Whatever. The arctic was a pretty cool looking place if I do say so myself. I spotted some penguins, seals, polar bears, and all that cold animal stuff. I even spotted an igloo with a human in it. Must've been my lucky day when it came to my photography class assignment. As we were about to leave the Arctic, I was kind of wondering where we would explore next. Minutes later, we were back at my bedroom window. I was really confused. Was that seriously all? We could've been exploring the ocean, or the mines, all those other great places, and the next big place up next was my bedroom window. The monster truck sent me through the window with the ejector seat option. "Aww, man." I said. "What was that? 3 places? Just 3!?" I shouldn't really be complaining because it was better than not going anywhere in the first place. I would've failed my photography assignment. I figured now was a nice time to show my family the truck since it wasn't going anywhere.
I went downstairs and said, "Mom, Dad, Ruby, come up to my room. There's a monster truck the size of our house outside our window!"
"Yeah. Right. Not another one of these stories, Emerald." Ruby said.
"But it's true! Just come up to my room, please."
"Whatever." She said.
On our way up, I was kind of excited. All these years of weird things happening, and I'm going to prove it. When we reached my room, however, the monster truck wasn't there. "But I swear it was just there when I walked downstairs. What about that rumbling noise from earlier?"
"First of all," Ruby said, "you were probably just dreaming about this so called, 'monster truck'. Second of all, I don't know what you mean by, 'rumbling noise from earlier'. You have a wild imagination there you have."
I suddenly felt betrayed as she left my room and went downstairs. I swore that the monster truck was there before I left. Something really strange is going on here, but I'm just glad that it's over... for now that is. There really wasn't anything to worry about at this point if nothing is happening, in fact, I should be glad about those pictures for photography class. What I should do is stop worrying about this stuff and just get some sleep.
