Tegan collapsed back down into bed with an exhausted sigh and pulled the covers up to her nose. She was lucky to even get a few hours sleep most nights now, and her friends reckoned that she wasn't far off being diagnosed with insomnia.
Mere seconds passed before Tegan was drawn out of her almost slumber by the notification alert of her phone. She rolled over with a groan, sweeping the hair out of her face, before reaching out to unplug the device from its charging cable.
The brightness of the screen in contrast to the darkness surrounding her was obtrusive, and Tegan winced in pain and let her eyes adjust before she could even begin to attempt to read the text notification.

Tegan locked her phone and reached out to plug it into the charger again. She snuggled down into her covers, and as her eyelids grew impossibly heavy, she heard the whimpers of her baby boy.
As Tegan got up to console her son, she didn't groan this time. Instead, Tegan had a small smile tugging at the corners of her mouth, all because of the goofy stranger that called himself Louis - and it was the happiest she'd felt in a while.
