I pushed Raphael's hand off my mouth and quickly sat up. My eyes locked on Leonardo who was standing over the arrow, it now sliced in half by his blades. I let out a small sigh in relief, but almost failed to notice the note tied around the arrow.
As Leonardo picked it up, I suddenly turned to the other turtles.
"What was that?" I whispered to them,"Who was that?"
Raphael threw his arm around my back and tugged me back down so I was out of view from Leonardo. I wanted to protest, but decided not to incase there was another one of those arrow shooting guys aiming one at my head instead of Leonardo's.
"It looked like one of the ninja that attacked us a few weeks ago." Donatello said, rubbing his head in confusion,"But why would they send only one of them?"
"Guys..." Michelangelo waved his hand, not looking at us while he peaked up to the roof,"Look!"
We all popped up in time to see the blue banded turtle jumping to the next roof, and then over the side of it. Before I could even process what was going on, I was scooped up in Raphael's arms in a fireman's carry and he was using his legs to propel us up on the roof where his brother formally was.
"Great!" He griped, kicking one of the shredded newspapers in aggravation.
"Let's go!" Donatello was already running to the other side of the roof,"He's headed towards South Boil; it's not far from here!"
Raphael shifted me in his arms so his arms were at the bend of my knees and behind my back. Bridal style. My cheeks heated up as I was forced to wrap my arms around his neck when he followed his brothers down to an alley.
"We walk from here." Donatello whispered to us, inching forward as Leonardo walked down the alley. I let myself relax when Raphael sat me on my feet, but I stayed close to his shell, between him and Michelangelo. This was really creepy.
We snuck around a corner as Leonardo walked into an old warehouse. I was left behind with Donatello when Raphael and Michelangelo jogged to the door to put their ears up against it. I doubted they'd hear anything. Donatello and I eventually caught up with them and leaned in close to the door.
Why not try?
"Man, Leo's been acting funny all day," Yeah I wonder why, I thought sarcastically as Michelangelo spoke,"And I don't mean haha funny. I mean funny-funny."
"It's not like him to go off like this." Donatello added, biting his lip. I felt like exploding, really. Did they not realize that he was acting this way because of what happened earlier in the lair? I guess they were all being naïve.
"Yeah," quipped Raphael,"he's acting like me."
"Oh, great. That's just what we need: another you." Michelangelo said, but I stopped paying attention when Donatello poked my shoulder and pointed to the end of the walk way. He wanted me to follow him. I shrugged, following after him as Raphael and Michelangelo were bickering back and forth.
"I'll flip up, then reach down and pull you up." He told me, jumping up to grab at the side of the low hanging roof. I nodded and watched him swing himself up backwards, landing on the metal roof with a thud.
I stuck my hands in his when he reached down. Before he could pull me up though, I called to the other two turtles who were still going back and forth.
"Are you guys coming?"
Soon we all stood on the roof, watching quietly as Leonardo walked through the room, turning his head back and forth. At one point he became angry when he looked at the flag that was hanging on the back wall. It was red, and had three spiky ends... it looked like a flame almost.
