-Lucy's pov-
"WAKE UP!! TIME FOR SCHOOL!!!" I smack Sting's face, hard. "Owwwww, what the heck, Lucy!?" I sit up, yawning and rubbing my eyes. "You don't scream in my ear, Sting, unless you want a smack to the face," I say. "But you're alarm didn't wake you up, I had to," he explains, caressing his cheek. "You could've just tapped me or something," I respond back, pushing him as I get up. "But that's no fun!" He whines, falling on the floor. I drag my feet to the bathroom making sure Sting won't grab my feet.
"Hurry up 'cause Yukino's here with breakfast," he tells me as I close the bathroom door. I support my arms on the sink, looking at myself in the mirror. "Is this real? Or just a dream...." I mumble to myself, doubting reality. I mentally shake me head; getting rid of the thought. I quickly do my morning routine before walking to the kitchen. "Hey, Lucy!" Yukino greets as she comes in for a hug. I hug her back, smiling. "Hey, what did you make, or bring?"
"I made some pancakes. Sting is already eating." We both walk over to the table, Sting greeting us with a full mouth. Yukino lightly slaps his arm, scolding him. "You guys are together, right?" Their faces turn a flushed red. "N-no! We're just friends!"
"Friends with benefits," I correct. Sting starts choking on his pancakes making me laugh. Yukino pats his back as he jugs down the cup of milk. "What the hell!?" He screams, getting up and smacking his hands on the table. "What? It's obvious that you two like each other. I'm making you two a couple. Yukino, you have my blessing." I say through small giggles of laughter. "Shut up, Lucy!"
"I told you already that I don't like him that way!"
"Ok, ok... But," Sting looks at me, eye twitching making me giggle before continuing, "Don't let your dreams be dreams, Sting, Yukino." I finish before getting two pancakes and putting them on my plate. Yukino stares down at her lap as Sting scoffs, ignoring what I said. The air is think with awkwardness between Yukino and Sting while I happily eat my breakfast. Once we finish, I get my bag as Sting and Yukino awkwardly say goodbye. Yukino gives me a quick hug before we go out the door. "Don't you ever do that, ever." I playfully punch his forearm, "Aw, come on, you know I was just playing."
"I don't care if you were, you were making Yukino uncomfortable." I pout, crossing my arms over my chest, "Fine I'll apologize once we get home..." I get out my new schedule for school "So, I go to a tutorials during lunch and first period to catch up?" Sting nods,"Yep!" I look at Sting then realize, why is he even going to school!? I ponder over my realization as we walk. I just put the thought aside as we get to the gates of the school. People see me and start greeting me, weird. Sting pulls me close, "Most people here already knew about the kidnapping and coma thing. Just, don't pay attention to them, ok?"
I nod as Sting drags me from the crowd forming behind us. Sting drags me to a classroom where everyone is waiting. Levy sees me, eyes bright at my presence, "Lucy!!!" She runs to me and gives me a hug. I hug her back, smiling. She lets go and drags me to the rest. We exchange hugs and hellos before settling down. I sit down on a desk. Natsu does the same and pulls me close; planting a kiss on my cheek.
I blush at the sudden affection, "You guys are so cute!" Lisanna complements. "Thanks," Natsu replies, "but it's mostly this one," he puts his arms around me, "this is the cute one." I blush more at his complement. I can hear Sting growling at Natsu. Juvia gets a bag and gives it to me. "For you, Gray and I thought you might like it."
"Oh no, I can't--you didn't have to." She puts the bag in my lap, smiling. I look at Gray, then her, then back at the bag. "Ok, thank you!" I slowly open the bag to a box. I gasp, "Oh my lord," I put the box aside and hug Juvia then Gray. "You can put them on, if you want." I get the box and sit back down on the desk. I open the box to a new pair of Converse. I stare at the white high tops, a Sleeping with Sirens design on them. "How much did they cost?" Natsu takes one and looks at it. Jellal and Erza look at the one Natsu has. "That doesn't matter." Lisanna and Levy take the one I have from my hands and look at at, "They're nice." Gajeel looks at the one Levy has.
"Thanks." I take both shoes back and start putting them on. "I can't thank you guys enough for these!" I finish putting on the shoes; smiling down at my feet. "It was our pleasure to buy them for you, Lucy." I give Gray and Juvia another hug before sitting back down. The five minute bell rings making all of us groan. "Well, see you at lunch, Lucy," Natsu gives me a quick peek on the cheek before leaving with the rest who are waving with smiles on their faces. 'Wait, Sting, why are you here?" he tenses up. "Uh, well, when you fell asleep I kinda stopped caring about school..." Jellal stops walking.
"He failed." Jellal finishes his sentence. "WHAT?!" Sting covers my mouth "The fuck Jellal!?" Jellal shrugs before walking out. "I'm bringing you to your tutor, that's all." He still has his hand over my mouth. To make him stop I lick his hand making him take his hand off. "Bad Lucy!" He wipes his hand on his shirt as a giggle. Once I stop I stare at him "Sting, did you really fail? I know you didn't really care about your grades when I was awake, but with me in the coma... did you stop caring completely about school?"
"... I still cared about my grades I just... I just didn't do as much work..." He tapers off. "So we're in the same grade now?
"Yeah..." He sighs out. "I'm going to get higher grades than you."
"Is that a challenge?" I smirk. "You bet." He smirks back, "Alright then." The bell rings as most kids come in through the doorway. The teacher comes in a little after. "Lucy Heartfilia." I get up and walk to her. "This is for you, I'll have someone guide you." She gives me the paper and looks at Sting. He gets up and follow me out the doorway. "So I stay for first period, then have regular classes, then go back for lunch?"
"Yep," he replies. "Ok, do you know who's my tutor?" He shakes his, "Nope, they wouldn't tell me, I don't know why though..." We walk through the halls, looking into classrooms and making faces. Once we get to the room I look in through the small window. "They're late..."
"Way to state the obvious," I mutter at him. "Let's go in and wait for them." We open the door and go sit down. I sit down on the desk, huffing as I do so. "Is Yukino going to be in the house once we come back?"
"Yeah, she said she wanted to 'clean' and something about a doll." I remember what she said about bringing Aquarius making me already excited for school to end. "Well, I should go, see ya Luce," he waves as he heads for the door. Once he closes the door I let out a unexpected sigh. I close my eyes and relax. I still can't get the realization of me being in a coma through my head. I stay thinking for awhile.... "Boo." I squeak out a shout and fall off the desk landing with a 'thud'.
"Oops, sorry Lucy," the person apologizes as I rub my sore bottom. "What the hell man?!" I open my eyes to pink hair,"I'm surprised to see you here."
"What's that supposed to mean?" He offers a hand which I accept. "Take it how you'd like," he kisses my forehead, "All better," he grins as he brings me in a hug. "Natsu."
"Hm?"
"Are you really my tutor?"
"Yeah," I wiggle out of his hug and stare at him. As I cross my arms over my chest, I scan his face for any hint that he's lying. "And how can I believe you?"
"Are you implying that I'm stupid?" He crosses his arms over his chest and raises an eyebrow. "No, I'm just asking." I sit back on the desk. "Well, believe it 'cause I am," he sits next to me. "But Erza or Jellal would of made a better tutor, they're really smart," I suggest making him gasp, "I am smart! I couldn be the best student in this whole school, Lucy!" I roll my eyes, "That's a big maybe."
"See, now you're implying I'm stupid!" I chuckle, "Looks like you are smarter than before." He Pouts. "Naw, I'm kidding. Ok then, if you are my tutor, what are we going to start with?" He gets up and goes to a cabinet. "Let's start with math," I groan at the mention of the awful subject. "Nuuuuuuu," I complain. He laughs as he brings out two textbooks. He gives me one which I lazily accept. "Let's start on..." He flips through pages, "this one." He stops at a page and points at the page number. I flip through the pages until I find it. I mentally sigh. I look at Natsu as he explains the problem. This is my reality now...
