I got ready for school so I packed me regular clothes in my schoolbag instead of my books which I hid under my bed.
No one knew what happened last night except Josh. My family does not care about me at all.
I guess I'm going to hang out and talk with Josh, maybe he can be my therapist or something like that.
-
I entered Josh's house since he left the door unlocked. He was laying on the couch watching tv while snuggling in a plain black hoodie and sweatpants.
Josh got up and hugged me tightly as I'm standing in the doorway.
"Are you ready for some fun?" He asked me, giving slightly a smirk.
"Well, mister. I'm sure, that I'm ready for this one. I only got a half hour of sleep as you can tell."
"I'm used to no sleep so I'm fine."
"Why did you want me over so bad?"
"To make sure you're safe. Now what do you want to do? Do you want to go out somewhere?"
"Wouldn't that be illegal to be ditching school and then going somewhere?"
"I have to pick up shit for my parents . Let's go grocery shopping like middle aged women."
"At least let me get dressed first."
I went into Josh's nearest bathroom. I was getting naked in my friend's house instead of being at school.
I make the best decisions in life, don't I? That was pure sarcasm.
I slowly removed my clothing and I sat on the cold bathroom floor digging through my backpack.
I peered over at a bathtub. I felt the war flashbacks beginning.
I grabbed a black band shirt and jeans. I quickly put them on while scooting around the floor. This is the struggles you get of putting on clothes in a tiny bathroom.
I finally got them on and Josh was waiting for me at the stairs. He sat there, patiently on his phone, waiting for me.
"It took you long enough. Let's go do some errands."
Josh had on a ripped up red/pink flannel and a white band shirt with black jeans. Why do we have so many pairs of black skinny jeans?
I hopped into Josh's car and he drove us down to the nearest general shop.
"Dude, I thought we were going grocery shopping?"
"We are. Let's just stop here and pick up a few things on our journey."
We walked side by side into the slightly large general store. It was packed with people rushing to work.
These two guys who just skipped school for no apparent reason are just casually walking in here. Makes total sense?
I went to the candy section. So many options to choose from. I have to pick one though. Let's go with Sour Patch Kids...the watermelon kind.
I picked up a red gatorade bottle. Come on, red's the best flavor in my opinion. Light blue can be good sometimes though.
I met up with Josh at the counter and he paid for all of our stuff.
"Ok, now off to the grocery store." He said as he started up his car again.
"Hey Josh, I want to thank you again for last night. Again, I was selfish. I let blurry get the best of me again."
"No problem, I wish I had a friend like you back then when I was dealing like something similar as you."
"What?"
"We're not getting emotional just yet, we are almost there."
-
We pulled up to a pretty big grocery store "Josh, did we go this far to get food for someone else?"
"They have good shit here, they're on sale half of the time."
He made a point. I remember when I was a young boy (my father took me into the city) and I used to go to this grocery store all the time.
We grabbed each other's hands while walking through the slightly empty parking lot.
Josh grabbed a cart and I followed him like a little child from behind.
Grocery stores are always very interesting to me. It's like you're walking into a lifetime supply of eating materials for a certain price and different tastes.
He pulled out a shopping list from his pockets "Okay, first thing's first. Let's go get the healthy shit."
We were entered by a huge selection of fruits and vegetables "What do we need?"
Josh began to list things off "bananas, apples, lettuce, peppers, carrots, watermelon and celery."
"Your family sure does eat healthy."
We approached the froot (ahaha marina puns) first.
"How many bananas do you need?"
"I got the apples, get like..uh..4."
I picked up a bunch of bananas and placed them on the scale.
"Move your yellow dicks. I need to weigh these apples."
I stood there staring at him, practically up-hauled at what he just told me.
"Tell me that bananas don't look like oversized yellow dicks to you."
I tied them in a bag and placed them in a cart. Josh was turned around weighing the apple to the right amount.
I grabbed a single banana and whacked him in the butt with it "you've just been nana'd."
He started giggling adorably at me "I really can't stand you most of the time."
I put my arm around him, patting his shoulder "same to you, pal."
-
After putting all of the fruits & veggies in the cart, next up was whatever section we get sucked into and probably end up buying nothing that we need.
Josh was distracted by cakes, I wouldn't blame him. The way some store bakery's make their cakes is very amusing.
"Next up's the deli stuff."
We sat there waiting patiently for our turn. Being 7th in line with a bunch of middle aged women surrounding two high-schoolers is not exciting at all.
We were being stared at by everyone. I just was gazing at Josh's pink floppy hair just blowing around by the air vents above us.
My eyes began to wonder around him as he stood there waiting, enjoying and admiring all of his body features.
I was full on heart eyes at this point. Who knew waiting for lunchmeat could mean checking out your boyfriend in public.
Josh grabbed my hand as we leaned up against the back wall of the tiny deli area. I wish I was as beautiful as he looked, frick.
"So, Mr. Joseph, how does it feel being a rebel for once.
"It still feels awkward but at least I'm with you. I remember when I first met you, your hair just caught my attention. On that day, I never know I'd be ditching school with you to go grocery shopping."
"Oh, this is just the start. I got something exciting planned later for us. I just have to get this done first before we do anything."
I wonder what we're going to do?
