I hummed to myself, smiling, as I looked through my racks of clothes. Logan and I were finally back together. My phone buzzed in my pocket and took it out. There was a new tweet.
@1loganhenderson: I got a date tonight! I've liked this girl for a while :)
I laughed lightly. I grabbed my shirt, bending my arms and pulling it over my head and throwing it on the ground. I grabbed the white dress off the hanger, unzipping it. I took of my pants, stepping into the dress and pulling it up. I zipped it up, tying the bright purple ribbon that was at the end of my ribs. I grabbed my light blue jean vest, pulling that on. I grabbed my white flats with the little bows on the top and slipped them on.
I walked to my bathroom, pulling out my makeup and put it on, keeping it simple. I brushed my hair and brushed it all back. Satisfied I grabbed a purple ribbon that matched the one on my dress and wrapped it around tmy head, tying it in a bow. I did a once over in the mirror, picking up my phone. I saw a text from my mom, replying that the house wasn't burned down and that everything was fine, including that Logan and I had gotten back together.
I heard a knock on my door and I opened it up. Logan stood there in a grey and white letterman jacket that came 3/4 on his arms. He had on black jeans and black supras. To top it off, he had on a black L.A snap back.
"Uh, hey." I smiled, opening the door the rest of the way.
"You ready?" He asked and I nodded. "Before we go, I want to start over. We should move on from the past."
"Okay." I agreed.
"Hi, I'm Logan, and you are?"
"Carter, Carter Johnson." I smiled, holding out my hand. Instead of shaking it, he leaning in and kissed my nose.
"Well Carter, you look amazing. Let's go." He looped his arm through mine. He grabbed a basket off the table and we walked out to his rental truck.
"You know, this is our first date in 6 months." I hummed, grabbing his hand. He glanced at me before looking back to the road.
"I know. It's way over due."
"Mhm." I played with his fingers, rubbing my thumb on the back of his hand.
"I'll do it all again, I'll do it all again." Logan sang, catching my attention. I looked up to him, where he kept his eyes on the road, singing mindlessly. He repeated the same line. "But it's funny, lost all of my money, and someone took the keys to my car." I grinned at that line as he continued to sing, glancing at me. "Take a picture, it'll last longer." He winked.
"I wasn't staring, I was watching you sing." I told him, a small blush creeping onto my cheeks. Logan pulled over by the woods. I gave him a confused glance.
"There's a path that leads to where we're picnic-ing."
"Picnic-ing?" I asked, laughing.
"Yup." He said, laughing along. He grabbed the basket with one hand and mine with the other. I followed him, making sure to step around the roots. Soon we came to a big opening with a few huge trees, a lake, and a pier. Some people were canoeing but other than that it was almost deserted. Logan came to a stop in front of a picnic table, He took a blanket out of the basket, putting it over the table. He took out two sandwiches, some grapes, and two bottle of Naked. Really Logan? Really?
"M' lady." He said, gesturing to the table.
"Why thank you kind sir." I bowed, holding back my laugh. I sat down and he sat down across from me. We started eating, making small talk. After I finished my sandwich, I was full. I kept throwing grapes at Logan until he was finished eating. He finally grabbed a hand full and chucked them at me.
"This means war!!" He yelled. I squealed and grabbed a handful of grapes. I jumped up, running a bit. I turned and threw some. Logan threw one, hitting me in the forehead.
"Ow!" We kept throwing the until we ran out of grapes.
"We wasted perfectly good grapes." He pouted. I kissed him quickly grabbing his hand.
"Let's walk, Grape Boy." He walked beside me as we walked toward the lake.
"I like your vest, it reminds me of this girl that was at one of our concerts." Logan said.
"Oh okay." I laughed, unsure of why he said that. I was so busy thinking about Logan and I that I didn't realize it had started drizzling.
"It's raining." Logan said, looking up at the sky.
"I would've never known." I said sarcastically as the rain got heavier and started to pour down.
"Let's go!" Logan yelled over the rain, pulling on my hand.
"No!" I protested, getting a confused look from Logan.
"What?"
I held both his hand and took a step closer to him.
"Kiss me." I smiled, looking up at him.
"As much as I would love to it's pouring." He said, glancing at the sky. Ignoring him, I stood on my tippy toes and pressed my lips to his. He kissed back, holding my waist. I wrapped my arms around his neck. I took off his hat, tossing it out the ground. I wove my hands through his wet hair.
A kiss in the rain.
I pulled away from him, breathing heavily. "I love you." I told him, smiling slightly.
"I love you too." He said. "Now let's go, your shivering." I looked down and saw I was indeed shivering. We grabbed the basket and hurried back to the truck. We jumped in the truck and I looked over at Logan, laughing.
"We're s-soaked." I said, my teeth chattering.
"Put this on." Logan said, reaching to the back seat and handing my a grey hoodie. I took off my vest, shrugging on the warm and dry jacket. I pulled my wet and tangled hair out of the back and let it fall down my back. I took off my flats, pulling my knees up beside me. Logan started the car and started to drive away. The sky was now dark, the almost black clouds covering up the setting sun. I intertwined my finger's with Logan's, resting my head on his shoulder.
I yawned, making that weird yawning noise. Logan looked down at me, chuckling. I smiled slightly before falling asleep, Logan slowly warming me.
