4 years later...
~Carter's POV~
I stepped off the airplane, my bag slung over my shoulder. I adjusted my beanie over my newly cut hair. I had finally, after 10 years, actually cut my hair, not just got a trim. It now came about to two inches below my shoulders. Without the weight of the rest of my hair holding it down, it was really curly and I loved it. My green eyes scanned the airport as I walked out of the gate and into the bustling airport.
"I bet your happy." Emily laughed, looking at me.
"Yup." I answered simply, a smile growing on my face. Not spotting Logan for the 5 minutes I stood there, I decided to head to baggage claim. As I was searching for my many suitcases, I couldn't stop my mind from wandering to Logan.
I hadn't seen him in 2 years, at least not in person. He had so many tours and filming for the show. Once the show ended, the band had slowly broken apart not to long ago. The guys were still best friends, they were practically brothers. But with me being busy with school and my job, and being halfway across the world, we hadn't had time to see each other. Now that I had graduated from college, I was moving back home to be with Logan. He hadn't been able to make it to my graduation because he had to attend his grandma's wedding. he was really bummed about it.
I spotted one of my bags, taking it off the conveyor belt thing. I set it down next to me. After collecting all of my bags Emily had someone take them to her car.
"Let's go." I breathed out, suddenly feeling catastrophic in this crowded airport. As we walked I searched for Logan. He promised he would be here. After we had made it to the doors with no sight of Logan, we stepped outside into the cold Los Angeles weather. I took in a deep breath.
"It feels good to be home." I smiled, tightening my scarf around my neck then sliding on my white gloves. We moved to the side and looked for a few minutes but I still didn't see Logan, or any of the guys for that matter. I pulled my phone out of my pocket, checking the time and checking if I had a new text from Logan. I frowned when I didn't see any. That's when someone placed their hands over my eyes, blocking out my vision.
"Guess who?" A voice that I knew all to well said. A smile grew on my face.
"Logan!" I squealed, turning around. I hugged him tightly, jumped up and wrapping my arms around his waist. I hugged him tightly, burying my face in his neck. I took a breath, breathing in his sent that I had missed so much. I pulled away to look at him. His hair wasn't quiffed up, it was left down how I liked it best. He had a beanie on, his cheeks slightly red from the cold.
"I've missed you so much." I whispered, looking into his eyes.
"Me too." He whispered back, the corner of his mouth turning up into a smile. The dimples I had missed were shown on his perfect face. "Just kiss me." He finally said. I leaned in, my eyes fluttering close, before our lips crashed together.
Logan's POV
I missed Carter so much. I had felt bad enough not being able to make her to her graduation. This was her college graduation! It is a big thing and I couldn't be there for it. But now she was back. The taste of her vanilla chapstick on my lips was an amazing feeling. It felt right, just like it always had. We pulled away after a few minutes, catching our breath. She jumped down before hugging me again. Her hair smelled of vanilla and lemon. I smiled into her hair. Once she pulled away, I noticed her hair was a lot shorter.
"You got your hair cut!" I exclaimed, running my hand through it.
"I know." She smiled shyly. "Do you like it? It's a lot different from what I had." She mumbled, looking at her boots.
"I love it. I think you look beautiful." I smiled, kissing the tip of her nose. I locked our fingers together, her small hand fitting into mine like a puzzle piece.
"I walked here. My cars in the shop." I told her.
"Then we can walk home together." She smiled, kissing my cheek. Home. That's it. It was our home. After she told Emily we were walking, we started down the side of the road. The cold winter breeze blew Carter's hair behind her.
"So how has the past year been?" She asked, looking up at me.
"It's been nice but not too nice since I didn't have you." I said truthfully.
"I missed you a lot. I'm so glad to be done with college though. I can finally just stay here with you and live my life, even if Lexi and my parents are back in the UK." She shrugged.
"We should go on a road trip. Me, you, and the guys, maybe even Halston and Alexa. We could have one last fun time together before we start different lives."
"That does seem nice. But you guys are very close. You are part of each other's life."
"I mean before there's kids and marriage. We should live our life one more time while we're still young." Carter looked up at me, curiously.
"27 is not old." She laughed. She looked at the ground then back to me. "On that topic, would you ever want kids?"
"Yeah, yeah I would." I answered, looking at her. There was a spark in her bright green eyes and something about her smile.
"Okay." She said, looking back down at the ground. I smirked at her, even if she wasn't looking at me. It would be nice to settle down one day. Maybe have a a few kids, become a family. Truth was, I wanted Carter to be in my life forever.
"I'll always love you no matter what." I told her, kissing her cheek quickly.
"I'll love you forever. It's a long time but it'll be with you." She said winking.
"Did you get that off the Internet?"
"Yep." She laughed. Her laugh, I loved it. It was so nice and cute. Her face turned serious. "But seriously, I wanna spend the rest of my life with you."
"I promise you, I'll never leave your side. You can't get rid of me that easy, Kitty Carter." I said, winking. She gave me a soft smile, kissing my cheeks.
Sure, we have had our ups and our downs but that was just us. Carter's the pencil to my paper, the earphones to my iPod, the, well the Carter to my Logan. We may have been broken up before put we were back together, like puzzle pieces.
We had finally fixed us.
