One week later...

Lexi's Pov:

I woke up even more tired then when i went to bed. I was so drained from everything that went on this week. the cops still haven't found the men that raped Maddison and tried to murder her, and as for Maddison, she hasn't gotten any better, if anything shes gotten worse. "Hey did you stay the night again?" Damon asked walking in with what smelled like coffee. i nodded rubbing my tired eyes. i probably look like hell. " you should go home take a shower and get proper rest. i will call you if anything changes. i promise" he offered looking very worried. i was about to protest and tell him that i wasn't leaving her, but i really needed a shower and some sleep. it seems like the best idea. "thank you Damon, and if something does change and I'm not answering Jack knows where the spare key is tell him to come and get me" i explained. he smiled his adorable smile and nodded. i grabbed my jacket and keys, giving Maddison a kiss on the forehead and walked out the door and towards my car.

Once i was finally in my home, i threw my bag on the coach and headed for the bathroom. i stripped out of my 2 day old clothes and turned on the water. i felt the warm water hit my back and felt my muscles relax. i washed my hair and body, and climbed out of the shower. i threw my hair up in a bun once it was blow dried and set the alarm for 6pm. Climbing into my bed it didn't take long until i was fast asleep.

Damon's Pov:

I hated seeing her so lifeless. we hadn't know each other for very long but i was so protective over her. Suddenly i felt my phone vibrating and seen that it was the officer calling me. "Hello?" "Damon? yes hi, i was wondering if you were home or at the hospital where i could ask you a few questions?" he sounded concerned and it scared me. " im at the hospital with her now, would it be okay for you to come here? i promised Lexi i would stay with her just in case something happened. " "yes of course I'm a few mins away so ill see you soon" we hung up and i felt my face pale. do they think i did it? i would never disrespect a women like that. But like promised he walked in the door shutting it behind him. "Hello Damon good to see you again, well not under these terms" he said scratching the back of his head. He looked over to see a very lifeless Maddison. and took a deep breath. "is she getting any better?" i shook my head and looked down, this is all my fault i know it is no matter what anyone tells me. "no if anything shes becoming worse, shes had a few close calls with death." i said my voice dripping with sadness.

"well i wanted to share something with you, your not in trouble, i hope i didn't make you think that" he laughed a bit yes you did asshole "what did you want to share?" curiosity was getting the best of me so i just ignored the other thing he said. "about her childhood, i went through all you records and found a connection with you to Maddison, her parents were drug addicts and always had problems with their dealers for not paying and stuff like that, and the day Maddison was born, they both died. But what no one knows is that people were after her parents that night as well. I'm not able to give you names but i have a suspicion that the people who did this to Maddison did it because of her parents." my head was spinning, why didn't i know any of this, does Lexi? does anyone? i sat there probably looking half retarded. "how do i have a connection with her? where do i come into this? and how do u know it was them for sure what evidence you got?" i asked him more questions then i was probably suppose to but i didn't care. he smiled looking down took a breath and continued. "You have a connection because of who your father is, your dad was the one who responded to the accident they were in that killed them and somehow Maddison survived. Your dads the one that actually named her." he took a pause and smiled before continuing my father named Maddison? the girl i pretty much am responsible for putting in a coma? "I'm telling you this because you smart just like your dad is. if anyone can help me figure this out its you. i know it was them because of whats written on her arm, there is a gang of drug dealers that uses that saying to warn people. usually not going to this extreme but, her parents got their drugs from that gang. Thats why i think its them. now look tomorrow at 8 am I'm going to pick you up at her apartment, we are gonna go through her things and try and see if she has any connection with them still or if she ever has. then I'm taking you to the seen of the crime. were maybe we can find some evidence it was them." all this was to much, and i was so scared. "i should probably call Lexi and tell her" i said reaching for my phone "no she cant know about this" he said very seriously shell kill me if i don't tell her though... "why not?" "because if it is them, they are already watching us the more people that know about what I'm telling you the more people that know, the more that will be killed." he said very seriously. why the fuck aren't they in jail then!? i nodded and put the phone away.

after saying our goodbyes and arranging for tomorrow, he left. my mind was spinning what the hell did i get myself into. "God Maddison, what did you get yourself into" i spoke softly to the sleeping body in front of me. "ill find them Maddison if its the last thing i do" i promised her, even though she couldn't respond i felt like she was smiling at me. i took a look at what was written on her arm again beware of the scarlet moon, when the wolf comes out to fight the words kept repeating in my head. just then my phone buzzed. reading the message from Lexi. she was on her way back. but i noticed i had another message from an unknown number. i felt my face pale as i read the words off my screen the rest of the poem... beware of the scarlet moon, when the wolf comes out to fight, deep in the darkest forest, you will hear the howls of the strongest pack, the ones who aren't afraid to attack. Who the hell is this. i didnt reply but instead deleted the message.
